The thing about this argument that bothers me is the (constant and continued) BCSish bias towards NBA upside and name on the front of the jersey. Or, "I like the ingredients, the recipe or the dish doesn't matter as much.

It's almost as if "I don't care about results, I know how good they COULD be, so that's my team." Much less weight is given to consistency and actually winning.

Now, I do get that if Syracuse and Arizona only played each other, but did so 30 times and both teams were 15-15, you'd be hard pressed to argue they still weren't one of the best teams in the country. And you can take that scenario and apply it (mostly) to a team like KU who has played an extremely challenging schedule.

It still seems to me that some teams are judged on their best performances and their worst are brushed aside, while others are judged on their worst performances while their best are dismissed.

Caddy Shack - doesn't matter how rich or successful you are. It matters where you came from. If you ancestors weren't in the Country Club, you sure as hell aren't getting in as a member. Tom Keegan article laid it out pretty clearly as well. You're not a cool kid. You aren't going to get to sit at the cool kids table.

The only point that needs to be made to Gottlieb is that what he thinks is insignificant. If the Shocks win out they will be a No. 1 seed. Gottlieb can dissent until he is blue in the face, but that will not change the ultimate outcome. Getting the #1 seed is of great value for the Shocks and their fans. While Gottlieb is entitled to his opinion it is of little to no value for the Shocks and their fans.

Shocks just need to take care of business and keep winning. The #1 seed must be of some value or there wouldn't be so much consternation about the Shocks grabbing one of those coveted four slots.

If the Shocks are as bad as Gottlieb believes than it really doesn't matter if they are a #1 seed or not. It will take care of itself in due course. What Gottlieb is really hoping for is a chance to say "See I told you so, my penis is bigger than yours".

Gottlieb on twitter says that Baker probably isn't NBA talent because he "asks scouts and has evaluated for a decade". The voices in your head are not NBA talent scouts Doug! And clearly you don't know how to evaluate anything if you are constantly talking about how good of a person that you are. What a joke.

He probably said the same thing about Damian Lillard and Steph Curry.
