  • I wouldn't necessarily call him a troll. Instead, I'd say a switch hitter without any passion either way. I see things admittedly through a Shocker slant. My arguments sometimes or more often than that show that passion. Some people are always tepid and never show passion. They are obviously not fervent Shocker fans.

Honestly, I've always thought Jamar shared his loyalties between 2 state institutions and ass/u/me/d his blood was half Blue PANTONE (PMS) 293.

I don't think you have a clue what being objective means.

objective - not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts

I have stated multiple times that I root against KU basketball, yet I am willing to argue a point in their favor if I believe it to be true. That is way more objective than those who criticize every single comment that reflects positively towards KU.

No passion either way? Tepid? Not a fervent Shocker fan?

You're talking about me? Funniest thing I've read in quite a while.

You seem imo ,passionate toward your argument, not toward the Shockers.

no way in hell does ku win ten straight mvc titles. no way. and don't be so offended, ku lutz, like you were the last time i said that on this board. you went on an anti-shocker mvc tirade, like you got sand in your *****.
Am I missing something? Why would you say SIU in 2006, when SIU didn't even win the MVC? SIU won the conference tournament but not the league.

              - I have attended road games at Kansas State, Missouri State, and Creighton
              - I spent the night at Koch Arena before the SIU game one year
              - I have attended over 90% of the home games over the past decade

Yes, I am a Shocker fan through and through!
And this comment about attending the Vanderbilt NIT game in person:

FYI, Vandy fans were incredibly gracious to our group of WSU fans. I had multiple students who, after rushing the court, came up to us to congratulate us on an epic game and wish us safe travels home. Not one single person approached me with any sort of taunting comment. It may have been a horrible way to lose, but that whole game experience is still a fun memory in my mind.
And this comment about going to Atlanta for the Final Four:

and about 1,000 other comments over the years that I would be able to be considered a die-hard Shocker fan. I guess a few opinions about KU having a really strong basketball program and suddenly all the rest is washed away.

You guys crack me up. Haters gonna hate! Trolls gonna troll.

Instead of 2006, I’m sure he meant to say that SIU in 2007 (4 seed) could have stopped KU’s streak of conference championships, conveniently ignoring that the Big 12 had both a 3 seed and a 4 seed that year, both of which KU (a 1 seed) beat out for the regular season title. By the way, KU beat SIU in the tourney that very year.

You shouldn't have to justify yourself with examples. I am the type of person that wants to hear facts and actual reasons why someone has the opinion they do when engaging in a debate, if not then there is no debate and it becomes a farce. Unfortunately, most of the situations debated on here are about WSU comparing to KU or vice versa which leads to someone (usually you) taking the logical side and asking "why?"

I would say that if you didn't ask "why" or say something debatable, all the threads on here would be 1 page long or 5 pages of everyone agreeing WSU would win anything all the time without reasoning or supporting statements.

Nah, my kid is terrible at sports. When he first started playing tee ball and basketball, I wanted to coach the team that way I could be the involved dad. It's been 5 years now, still coaching, but he hasn't gotten any better. We play in really competitive leagues now but since I'm the coach he is still on the team because that would look really bad to cut your own son, but he doesn't play much.

                      • Here is the deal SN. Although the ongoooooooooooooooooing back and forth between JH4P and Fever is entertaining for the most part, it is getting old. I don't have a dog in the fight, but let me try and explain a reason for the behavior on both sides. For the most part we all fall into the category of one of four personality/communication styles (there are probably 20 different equivalent programs out there). I will use the most recognizable called DiSC. D=Dominance; i=Influencing; S=Steadiness; C=Cautiousness.

JH4P is the ultimate Cautiousness (C). This personality style is totally about being analytical (step-by-step approach, thorough, fact driven, allows questions, system oriented). My guess is if I gave him the test he would be a C without any overlap with the other styles.

Fever qualifies as a (D) Dominance. This personality style is about having an objective of "winning." The object of the process is to win. Winning is everything to this personality style. Many times this person will pursue the objective at any cost. The result of this behavior can be sacrificing other peoples' feelings, which can cause tension.

I am not a complete expert on communication styles, but I have presented on this subject before in my professional life. The Cautiousness and Dominance personality styles are the hardest two styles to coordinate together, I might add. These personalities are DNA encoded and can't be switched to another style, although in a personal or work environment these styles can consciously be adapted if the parties choose for the sake of civility.

Can JH4P and Fever change? Not likely. Can they, if they choose, elect to be more compassionate toward each other? Yes...but not likely.

Now, let me get more popcorn and return to our regularly scheduled program...

                        • Shoxmvc, I need to be thorough and factual here... I stopped my back and forth with Fever a while back. :-)

Unfortunately there are several of his apprentices on here that are filling in for him quite nicely.

You are right. Fev and J4P are polar opposites in some ways and yet have the same personality traits in other other ways. It's almost incestual if you ask me. Feels so right but yet is so wrong. :)
