There is a new personality style equivalent called "3rd Rock From the Sun (made possible with cow patties and hot Texas sun)." People in this category are famous for hurling their thoughts through space on a molten rock at 67000 miles an hour and the only thing that keeps them from flying out of their shoes is their misplaced faith in gravity.

If your looking for a serious answer, your personality/communication style is clearly Steadiness, which I like to characterize more as amiable. This is a person who is friendly and caring, someone who is casual and relaxed. Someone who dislikes confrontation and likes harmony among all.

SN is just like society in general...it takes all four personality/communication styles to make the world go around.

      a) Ahha! By replying to my not addressing penis size challenge and saying that you would not address the penis size argument you have indirectly agreed with me that MVC students have larger penises because you have no valid basis for argument otherwise! BAM! I knew it was true! Now if that fact stands then my initial argument still looks solid that KU would not have won 10 straight in the MVC.

      b) You didn't use kenpom, you used seeding. Seeding is heavily skewed toward RPI. Therefore a very large basis for your argument was indirectly on RPI.

      c) You have addressed the RPI concerns before. That does not mean you proved your case. My fact is indisputable and so is the coclusion. In 201x (whatever year it was) the top 68 (or possibly 64 I don't remember) teams' RPI was based 69ish percent on SOS alone (don't recall the exact percent). The conclusion is absolutely true that for those teams in that group outside of the power conference, 69% of their RPI is entirely out of their control. There is really no arguing those points.

You went into a variance argument, but the argument is irrelevant to the assertion.

There is a bias toward teams in power conferences who are fortunate to have heavy hitters in their league. There is a clear scheduling blockade by those teams to "keep it in the family" and to not risk losses in road games or to strong non-power conference teams. Why shouldn't there be? It's built into the formula to make it correct to behave that way (unless you are Maryland -- that's a joke please don't address it).

      d) No kidding. But there's enough data to indicate that your seeding argument is weak.
You've just been kicked out of the amiable crowd till further notice.

Size is a quantitative measurement, not an argument.

          • Let me first say that although we disagree, I really appreciate your posts KungWu. I can tell that in between comments about penis size, you are actually making some legitimate attempts to discuss the topic, which is more than I can say for many of the trolls on this board.

I also followed up my initial comments with multiple posts showing that KenPom agrees with both the RPI and seeding. So far, your case has simply been that the RPI formula is biased. The Committee doesn’t follow the RPI exactly, yet they choose to seed the Big 12 teams higher. KenPom is formulated completely differently, yet it also ranks the Big 12 teams higher. When KenPom, RPI, and seeding all agree, you need a pretty good case in order to say they are all wrong. Good luck with that.

I am not attempting to argue your calculation of 69%. I’m disputing the conclusions that you make based on that 69% number. Those conclusions are far from indisputable facts.

I was going to respond to this, but I want to be sure I’m understanding you correctly. You are saying that the MVC going 2-1 against KU in the tournament is enough data to mean something, and that something is _________?

All in all, this type of topic fascinates me as it brings together many of my favorite things. Math. Ranking systems. College Basketball.

            • I just love when people say they are "done with certain people", but then continue to take subtle, indirect shots continuously in later posts. It's still humorous to see Jamar continue to mention my name specifically, even though he's "done with me". I absolutely love it. He tries to pump himself up as being the bigger, better saint, but he just can't help it. How big of a thorn must I be to him to brag about ignoring me, but then continuously mention me either directly or indirectly in nearly every post? That's worse than not ignoring me. Speaks volumes.

Anybody wanna start a drinking game involving Jamar dropping the word "trolls" in posts that is used incorrectly?

              ... No really, deuces.
