RPI is unbiased. RPI doesn't care about names. RPI is a great metric.
Rankings like LMRC, KenPom, etc. have been proven time and time again to have greater predictive capabilities than RPI, and are a better measure of the best teams in the country.
RPI is a better measure of resume strength than of team strength.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

A team like say clemson in the acc, loses perinally to duke unc syracuse pitt whoever else is good in the acc.... That boosts their rpi, but it does not make them a good team. Then they get in to the tournament cause of a bloated RPI because theyve lost to good teams and beat crap ones (who also lost to those good teams).... thus bloating the RPI more, then in the tourney we find out that they actually kinda suck.
This is exactly whats happening in the big 12. I don't think a great team exists in it this year. The best team in the conference has 7 loses. I dont care who theyve lost too. 7 loses is 7 loses. Great teams dont lose 7 loses. but because all these teams have bloated RPIs because they play a tough schedule (doesnt matter if they win or not) they just keep pushing each others RPI higher and Higher.... The big 12 is actually full of mediocre teams with high rpis because they lose to other teams with higher rpis and its a cycle from there.
The fact that a team with 7 loses is going to get a 2 seed is beyond me, Absolutely beyond me. And then theyll say but they beat texas, and then ill say but Texas lost to byu... and on and on.... RPI has flaws."Coach Marshall,We will be at Creighton at least 15 hours in advance!"
CGM--->"Hell yea, and we'll beat their ass."

RPI has flaws. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
