Muller is begging fans to come out to the game. Getting desperate. I mean how hard is it come out and watch the 5th ranked team in the coun...errrr... I mean Illinois State play? Ah, who am I kidding? Everybody is coming out to see us. That's what we do for the conference. Bring in the bank. It's funny that a good majority of those fans that come will have never have seen the Redbirds play in person this year. It takes us and some Muller begging to bring them out from underneath their cinder blocks.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

A little concerning to me that the Shocks now have 3 wing players with a shooting confidence problem currently:

      Tekele Cotton
      Evan Wessel
      Nick Wiggins

I think they will be OK because there's still plenty of time for them to work it out. I'll be watching this game closely to see if these three can overcome, show some confidence, and knocking down outside jumpers. It was great to see Derail Green do it last Tuesday.

      Thoughts?
I think that you almost have to throw Green in the mix. But I dont see him in practice and he is a freshman. But if Wessel and Wiggins cant hit threes, they arent what we need from the 3 to advance our offense.

And to boot, even our own crowds at Koch get the opposing teams amped. Playing in front of hostile packed houses is a welcomed site to playing in front of no one at home.

        Pathetic.

          Wessel - 0 for 15
          Wiggins - 11 for 48
          Green - 5 for 13

            Wiggens 297 minutes, .337 pct , 46 rbds , 5 assists and 18 turnovers, weak D
            Wessel 247 minutes, .393 pct , 39 rbds, 6 assists and 5 turnoves , good D
            Green 74 minutes, .263 pct , 9 rbds, 5 assists and 3 turnovers, weak/ave D

considering the difference in defense I think I would go with EW

Dumb question - so I assume this means we have no way of watching the game since its blacked out?

The only reason ESPN3 is ever blacked out is if it's already available on regular TV.

Tulsa once the AAC wakes up and goes after us would be a nice choice.

The only chance we have of a rival in the MVC is if MoSt gets their act together. Which they very well might over the next few years.

Just bought my ticket tonight. Only 7 tix available in the lowers (only on the ends); lots available in the uppers. I bought tix in the cheap seats, but am hoping there will be an extra seat behind the bench that I can keep warm, though.

Then, after we beat ISUr and HCGM sets a PR for best start to a season as a HC, I plan to stick around for Coach's chat with MK and hopefully get HCGM to sign the mini basketball was able to pick up at Shocker Locker during the ISUb game. Was happy to stock up on all kinds of Shocker gear while I was in Wichit-awesome, even in the smaller temporary bookstore space.

Fortunately for Loyola game in Feb, I know there is a block of 30 tix that WSU has b/c WSU Foundation is coordinating their annual trip to Chicago around the game (at my suggestion!)...always good to sit with other Shocker fans on the road.

This will be an interesting game, the redbirds will be fired up, along with their fans. I like the way we have picked up our defensive intensity over the last three games. Little bit concerned about our shooting, we have been off over the last couple of games. I think our inside game has been real solid the last few games and I feel it will be the key for victory against the birds.Good D, solid freethrow shooting, under 10 turnovers, 45% shooting from the field = 73-60 victory for the SHOCKS!

This has to be amongst one of the most stupid comments I have heard in along time:

Illinois State athletic director Larry Lyons sais, “One thing we’ve heard is, ‘I would like to see some better games at home.’ Obviously, we’re bringing in a top-10 team now.”

Like they actually had something to do with scheduling the #5AP/#4Coach's team in the nation.

                                No kidding.

I also wonder if the AD realizes that when a fan says they would like to see some better games at home, they probably just mean they want to witness better basketball being played by the home team on their home court :)
