Yes watch the replay. Note closely the jump stop. The defender has to have established position once the offensive player jumps from the jump stop. He did and did not move until hit in the chest with the arm of the offensive player. Watch it. Watch it closely and read the rulebook. Very easy to see once you key in on jump stop. That is why league issued an apology.

You see, there was a change in the way the games are called to create an environment of "freedom of movement". Look it up. As long as the Offensive player is in control, its a defensive foul. Every time.

Now back to the space. Fred always does this if the defender is trying to draw a charge. He's flopping, TRYING TO DRAW A CHARGE! That is exactly what the NCAA wanted to do away with. That is exactly the reason for the rule change, and a model situation for it. This rule change doesn't even out the playing field. It makes the better guys, the more athletic and talented guys, look better and it helps them against garbage D like is played by most of the MVC against real athletic teams. Deal with it.
