Yeah, this is one where we could win by 7 or 40 and I wouldn't be surprised. The junk defense and ISUr's total inconsistency make this one hard to figure.

We have seen both zone defense types this season and have performed under the press. My only real concern is the dead ball inbound play, if Illinois State is on, it could cause some issues. I think the Shocks roll to a 16-0 start.

I don't know why, but this game makes me a little nervous. Ill St could fold and the Shox could win big, but I just have this gut feeling that it is going to be tighter than I'd like to see. If the Shox have to lose sooner or later, I really, really, really don't want it to be tonight.

Typical Redturd fan though. They aim to please. Nobody in the state of Illinois likes them. I've read SIU's and BU's boards and they are always talked about being the worst fans around. They trash it up because they have nothing to talk about good with their own team.

I mean when more players are being suspended, arrested, or kicked off your team than not, I guess deflecting that attention away to somebody else would be expected, especially coming from that worthless POS fan base.

The ironic thing about the Redbirds being our whipping boys and us despising their fan base at this point is that not too long ago, most of us probably viewed them as our favorite Valley team (outside of WSU, of course). They beat us some, but we beat them some too. Good competition. We have had a couple of good posters here who have brought good insight. I remember beating them in 2010 to reach the MVC finals for the first time in STL. After the game, my mom and I were eating dinner in the food court at Union Station, and a couple very kindly stopped to congratulate us and wished us luck for the title game. I stood up to shake their hands and tell them that they had a great team and season and that the matchup with them worried me more than our matchup with UNI.

Kinda weird how that's all changed....but when you consider that they have a delta bravo of a head coach, things can change like that.

WuShock16, maybe it is the wild overreactions of message board crazies that can't help but jump to call every other fanbase a "POS" for doing pretty much the same thing that our fan base does here on Shockernet. Every fanbase has its crazies, its sane ones, its numbers guys, its emotional wrecks, and its jerks, yet somehow we always think that we have more of the sane ones and "they" have more of the crazy jerks.

There was one long thread a while ago that was pages upon pages of calling Marshall expletives, a scumbag, a cheater, etc. On other Valley boards you have the occasional meltdown about Gregg but nothing even close to what I have seen on redbirdfan.

Yeah, their's is more of a jealous rage compared to mere jealous resentment on other boards.

Last year's Kung Fu incident really sent it over the top- now they flip out at the very mention of us.
