Pretty sure everyone here is pulling for JRS and recognizes his contribution as a walk-on.

There's also nothing wrong with pointing out when somebody stinks up the joint. He's been fine most of the year, but I'd betcha he took some good-hearted ribbing for that final minute on Saturday from teammates and coaches. It comes with the territory of being a D1 player.

In 1955-57, the crowd used to chant "John Crum" to see him in mop-up duty.

I appreciate the commitment the walk-ons make and their value to the program. JRS is usually the first to enter the game. I would love to see him in practice, but he looks to be a step slow in game action. Why he chose to drive to the basket and try a behind the ear pass is beyond me. Usually there is some "restraint" from our walk-ons in the games.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

If I was a freshman walk-on point guard on a top 10 team, and I was coming into a game directly following the 3 plays that FVV had just made, I would've tried something similar.

I, also, would have found out that I am not FVV.

JRS kept looking at the coach. I'm pretty sure his instructions were to dribble the clock out and then attack the
paint as the shot clock wound down.......he just didn't execute the end of it very well.

This is my guess as well. As much as everyone says he should pass it to EW and NW my guess is that the play is a 1-4 low type of set and have the point guard attack at the end of the game there. If he draws help kick it if not keep it.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

I won't speak for others, but my comments were mostly in jest. Although it did come to mind as to why on back-to-back positions that he would decide to drive the lane amongst the big men. Last seconds of the game, bench warmer walk on or not, just use your head. I have no problem if he wanted to score, but there has to be a better way for a guy who's 5'11" with his basketball shoes on to get a bucket instead of among the big men down low. FVV he is not.

But hey, I like his intensity, assertiveness and fearless attitude to challenge the big dogs in the middle. I want he and other bench players to take advantage of any in-game PT they can get. Shoot the 'J' I say, carpe' diem!

According to 3G on his Monday radio show Illinois State is running, almost exclusively, a aggressive trapping 2-2-1 zone press falling back into an aggressive trapping 2-3 zone. Hopefully, the Shocks will be efficient in attacking these defenses and, hopefully, make the Redbirds pay if they are too aggressive. I foresee a few alley-oops on Wednesday.

This game is just on the radio and nowhere else, channel 22 or ESPN3?

I would not want to 2-2-1 this Wichita State team.
