I know this may sound odd, but in no way am I rooting for an undefeated regular season (unless I can be guaranteed an extra 9 game run). There will be pressure like non other if this team gets into February without a loss.

So many talking heads will crucify our schedule, league, etc... I wouldn't even mind a non-con loss, preferably not at home. I will take a loss or two. An undefeated season would be too much to bare and I don't see a good outcome during post-season play.

Don't think we have to worry about it. It's true that the Valley is now a pretty watered down conference and pretty much everyone else has looked mediocre, but it's still about impossible to go through conference play without losing. We do it every year, afterall, losing to somebody we are pretty sure we should beat. This year won't be any different.

Heck, the Tennessee game could be pretty tough to get through without an L.

Not sure what you're talking about. Although George Washington is definitely having a much better season than most expected, they aren't in our conference or even on our schedule. Isn't this supposed to be about whether the Shockers can go undefeated and discussing the teams on our schedule and in our conference?

I guess they are an example of a team that has won some games they weren't supposed to, which is kind of my point. But I'm more talking about Evansville, Southern Illinois, etc. You know, teams we actually do play and that actually are in our conference. I'm starting to wonder if you even understand what this conversation is about since you seem fixated on something that has nothing at all to do with anything talked about by anyone in this thread. The "intent" of my original comment about not going undefeated was simply the immense pressure it would create, especially in the national media going into post-season tourny play. It's not about who I want us to lose any one game to. Like each and every member of this fine forum, I always root for the Shockers to win. It is simply about the pressure and expectations in post-season play if we are undefeated. Don't complicate my comment with too much conspiracy thinking. My IQ wouldn't support that at all (lol).
