The likely increase in wins would be over similarly ranked 170+ RPI teams _that they are now forced to play_, and would likely be offset with additional losses to those same teams -- giving no discernible boost. But there will be a CLEARLY discernible drag on their RPI, which is what we see every single year in the mediocre conferences where the top flight teams (and even mid-flight teams) don't get to play very many high RPI opponents due to a very intentional scheduling blockade.

That's the point, yes. The reality is it is skewed toward the power conferences due to incestual scheduling practices. The opponents win percentage and opponents/opponents win percentage is 75% of the weight! Just being in a conference stacked with good teams gives you a boost even if you suck hind teet.

Your right, last year I was PO'd that we lost TWICE to a mediocre Evansville and a bad SIU. Yet a few here have made comments that BC is no better or worse than Loyola which must be due to their perceived strength of the Valley. I thought BC could compete for a spot in the top half of the Valley. Not that much of a stretch when you see Bradley currently as a play-in team yet only out of 4th place by one game.
I haven't participated in an argument about how BC would do in the MVC, and won't because I haven't taken any time to look into it. I only responded to Jamar's condescending post that if an MVC bottom feeder were to beat the #1 team in the country that "everyone" here would be claiming the MVC is "sooo strong". That's BS. However, I took the argument that BC would be in a dog fight with Loyola on most nights as demonstrating how bad BC is, not how good Loyola is.

My apologies. I didn't realize you had no point to your post other than posting facts of Valley teams. I mistaken thought it was to make a comparison to your other factual only post showing BC's schedule and stat rankings which would not have been a fair comparison had that been what you were doing, but, of course, I now know you were not. I was wrong. No attack was meant, just a spirited discussion.

I empathize with your statement that some don't like facts and that I, too, post them anyway. Sorry for the difficult format of those facts. I wish I could post my facts in such a simple to read format.

well, of course they would be. it's never been any different, either way. loyola (d-1) vs bc (d-1) would most always be competitive, from 1970 to now.

shockers vs bc would be fairly non-competitive this one year, though, i believe. they, the shockers, just might quite realistically beat them worse than they beat loyola. oh, hell, i'll say they would.

sidenote: shockers are on a mission. undefeated has nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I didn't understand the "everyone here" and would say "so strong" comment either. It became the focal point and derailed the rest of the post.

I would also agree that BC would be in a dogfight with Loyola as most of the Valley teams have found out as well.

Yeah, it's not easy. My ire towards him has really waned in recent years though.

Now he's just kind of pathetic and will be embracing a forced retirement in a couple years. His vertigo collapses make him seem that much more senile and Mr. Magoo-esque.
