    Yep.

Hopefully our friends in Chapel Hill make the discussion moot tonight.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

            I'm afraid there's no hope.

Re-read my statement. I said "everyone here". I was talking Shockernet folks. Of course the rest of the country would ignore it. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough with my wording.

If you go strictly off RPI they would be 7th, that is Thursday play in territory. So not exactly middle of the pack

We beat BCS teams every year and get little credit for it.
The conversation was about BC's name recognition and Syracuse getting credit for losing to a team people have heard of. The idea was that people say, "Oh, I've heard of BC, they must be decent." They don't usually say the same thing for WSU when they lose to teams like Evansville.

Tennessee and Alabama were wins, not losses. That's a whole different topic.

Not saying any of this is the way it should be, just trying to clarify for those who have been describing what is the reality we are dealing with.

6 MVC teams have better RPIs, 4 MVC teams have worse RPIs. BC is closer to the bottom of the 6 than they are to the top of the 4. I'm sorry that it wasn't a perfect 5 and 5 split. I guess 6 and 4 will have to do.

And some of you think I'm the one who nitpicks and argues extreme detail. Ha.

No need to apologize, I understood you perfectly the first time. I don't believe any amount near "EVERYONE" on Shockernet (the group you were classifying) thought that Evansville winning the games I mentioned proved how deep the Valley was.

Maybe it is semantics, but a bottom half MVC team wouldn't seem to me "very competitive."

Butler and WSU weren't anywher near #1 when Evansville beat them. They were considered good teams, but there is a huge difference between beating those teams (and their perceived value at the time) and beating #1 after having taken them to the wire earlier in the year. Poor comparison.

If mediocre Evansville, in a good MVC year, went out an beat #1 once, and almost twice, this board would be full of talk about how deep the conference was. I don't see why this is a controversial point.

Here is everyone's current RPI. 6 teams ahead of BC. 4 behind. A bunch of teams not far ahead. A big lead on the bottom 4. I'm sticking with middle of the pack and very competitive. This year's MVC has 2 at the top, 4 at the bottom, and 4 in the middle. BC would be part of the middle group.
