He beat 'em last year in the SEC tourney. Here to a big game, for the guy with big range!

    • Would be fun if #1, #2, #4, #6, #7, and #8 went down tomorrow. It certainly looks possible.

#1 and #4 will. Mark it down!

Also. Louisville is becoming a team I don't want to face in the tourney. Starting to really get rolling.
I agree. I think Louisville is one of the five best in the country. Not deserving of being in the top 5 in the polls, but one of the five best regardless.

My dream is for them to get matched up against Creighton in the round of 32. That would be absolutely hilarious. And very possible.

Creighton is likely to be a 2 or a 3, and has an outside shot at a #1 seed. So Louisville would be a 6?
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

I've seen a few mock brackets with Creighton as a 3 and Louisville as a 6 in the same region.

Unfortunately I think Louisville has been moved up to a 5 seed in the latest projections.

That's what they're projected as of right now. I see them working their way up a seed line or two though before we get to Selection Sunday.

                • After beating Gonzaga, warren nolan improved BYU's rpi to 35! That gives WSU a win over #14 SLU and #35 BYU. Tennessee and Indiana St are hanging close to the top 50 as well. Warren Nolan has Tennessee at 52 and Indiana St at 54 right now.

                  • Louisville has been playing no one of value until Cincy today... Also, their point guard play can be weak at times, and they have no inside depth at all. While they are a good team, IMO they are not a great team....

I know, we would definitely solidify our spot at #3. Maybe, and a really big maybe, even inch into #2....

                      • I could see St. John's beating Nova as well.

I'm worried about the George Washington/St. Louis game. St. Louis seems to be running on fumes lately.

Oh I agree, but we're to the point where a Saint Louis loss doesn't affect us as much as it would have 3-4 weeks ago.

Their point guard play is far from weak. It's what makes them on the precipice of being great.

Say what you will about Russ Smith - he's out of control at times - but without that attacking spirit and demeanor they'd be a borderline Top-25 team. If you're Rick Pitino you have to live with the mistakes he makes because he can put your team in another dimension.

Would we be one of the 25 best rebounding teams in the country without our "heart" ? Top 15 in both KenPom's offensive and defensive efficiency without our "mojo" ?

Our intangibles become a significant part of our tangible record after 28 games.

Most advanced statistical measures are extremely accurate at ranking the quality of teams.
I guess I am looking more at individual matchups, rivalry factors and that sort of thing in a one game winner take all scenario.

I agree with your premise about stuff like heart factoring into stats in the long run. But not every team can come from 19 down in front of 11k on the road. That was my point on our record.

                              • The problem is that Louisville wanted Chris Jones to take over the point.
