Look, Spock, I know you don't understand this but humans have these things called emotions and when they become passionate about something they like to get with like-minded individuals and share those emotions. Sometimes they spout out things that aren't meant to be taken literally. Sometimes they make a bold statement for no other reason than to boost the morale of the troops.

Sometimes they make judgement calls based on what they have recently witnessed that defies the stats. Sometimes those judgement calls turn out to be right.

Sometimes they predict a run to the Final Four with no possible statistical basis. The naysayers are quick to say it's statistically impossible ... but then it happens.

Sometimes they say the team is going to be undefeated at the beginning of the season, when some eggheaded goofball decides to throw out stats about how its practically statistical impossible and the very prediction itself is absurd ... but then it happens.

Sometimes.

And often times, it goes down just like the egghead says it would.

But the guy with passion is the real winner either way. He's not holding on to being "right". He's just holding on to hope that his team will be better next year, and ready to start bragging about them to anyone that'll listen.

It's not rare. There are at least a couple of players on the current team who have done it. One of them is Haws.

Let me leave you with a couple stats Fever since I know you enjoy them.

Against the top 50, BC has stayed within 10 points in 6 of their 11 games (55%).
The MVC (minus WSU) has done this 7 times in 28 games (25%).
Both have just one win vs the top 50. BC got theirs despite 17 fewer opportunities.
