I have NO idea how you guys do it, but your guest lineup has been EPIC!

Jay freaking Bilas. lol, pressure's on you now! Jay is a brilliant attorney and knows more about law than basketball, and he knows a lot about basketball.

If given the opportunity, thank him for his work with charities, especially the ALS foundation. A cause near and dear to not just me, but many other Shockernetters.

I would ask Jay his opinion on what changes (on the court) he's seen since his playing days, and if he thinks there has been a fundamental shift from a focus on defense to offense, perhaps specifically with his alma mater, and how a focus on defense may have contributed to the current successful run here at WSU. Or perhaps he sees a different reason for our current success.

              WuDrWu,

Dustin and I are working really hard to bring Shocker fans something amazing. Seeing analysts talk about Wichita State on ESPN is great, but they don't talk at length. It's 1-5 minutes at a time. After talking to Jeff ******* for 30+ minutes, I think most Shocker fans still disagreed with him. However, I truly believe that most fans now understand his side of the argument. We don't know how much time Jay will have to talk with us, but having the opportunity to listen to his thoughts on WSU for even 10 minutes (5 more than what you'd get on ESPN) should be rather enlightening.

Jay is just the first of a few guests we have lined up. We are trying to put together a star studded lineup the week leading up to Arch Madness and leading up to March Madness.

We hope everyone keeps listening and we would appreciate it if everyone would listen to the entire podcast and not just the interviews. haha.

Listened to *******, and I feel like I understand him a little more. Not that I agree with his overall take on WSU basketball, but it was great that he gave that much time.

I think of JG as a volume shooter, who needs a lot of shots, good and bad, to get his points.

                      • I didn't want to post episode 21 with bad news, but the Bilas audio is damaged beyond repair and we only got 10 minutes. I waited until morning because I know Bilas is an early riser. He said he'd be happy to join us on next Monday. We're going to sit down, try and fix the audio as much as possible and post it as Episode 21A if you want to try and listen to it. I will periodically post what I remember Bilas saying.

For one little tidbit, Bilas said, "I don't know how you don't give Wichita State a 1-seed, even if they lose a game in the conference tournament."

Make sure to listen for recaps, analysis, previews, our player of the week, shocker history moment of the week, what we're angry about, and the final four quickies.
Also, make sure to listen and find out the guest lineup we have next week, which now includes Jay Bilas.
                        Here's episode 21.

                        • Seriously guys, well done. Since you won't toot your own horn, I will. Next week, 4 interviews-episodes. Gregg Marshall, Doug Elgin, Ken Pomeroy and Matt Norlander. Damned impressive if you ask me.

                          Comment

                          • So we're trying to write up, paraphrase, what Bilas told us. We could kind of hear him, but the equipment was hooked up poorly. So we'd like to let you know what he said.

Thanks WuDrWu. We're trying to do a few things coming up if we can get our schedules to work out properly. We weren't going to post who we're interviewing until later this week so people had to listen to find out. haha. But yes, we'll be posting interviews all week leading up to Arch Madness.
The guest list includes, but in no particular order or day (need to check my notes):
                            1. Gregg Marshall
                            2. Ken Pomeroy
                            3. Doug Elgin
                            4. Matt Norlander
And 5. Jay Bilas ... again.

Thanks for hanging in there with us. When Jay and I talked, we made sure to tell him thanks for his work with charities and the ALS foundation, which may have lead to him agreeing to another interview. He had all good things to say.

Another tidbit of Bilas (Paraphrasing): "I usually give 1-seeds to the teams that earn it. The teams that beat better teams and schedule tougher teams should be rewarded. However, I know that Wichita State can't schedule as tough as other schools. So in this particular case, I think you have to take into account what they did last year after beating Pitt, Gonzaga, Ohio State, and almost Louisville."

If time allows, we're considering an impromptu show this week. It'll be listener appreciation. We'll send messages out to random Shockernetters and have them call in. This will allow you guys to have a voice and also allow us to work with the equipment more so that the same mistakes aren't made again. If you think you'd like to talk with us then email us at talk_angry@yahoo.com and we might get back to you.
