The upshot is that those of us who were worried that coach might bolt for SC don't have to worry. Can you imagine the AD of SC announcing:
"Fresh from a last place finish in the MVC, I'm proud to announce our new coach, Gregg Marshall."
BTW - Coach's voice sounds like Super Dave Osborne on the radio.
I could sure use a little Super Dave Osborne humor at the moment... might have to google up a couple later.

I'm totally let down. I thought for sure the news of matt playing would raise the guys enough to go out and "try" to get a win for him alone. "try" didnt even make an appearance tonight with the exception of matt and lance. To be honest matt didnt even have to really try... He just takes whats given to him and made his points look easy... BECAUSE THEY WERE!!! If just one other person on this team played with 2% of the inteligence that matt does we would at least be middle of the pack in the confrence. Totally unbelievable...
I would be so bummed that my teamates didnt give a rats ass tonight if I was matt. I can't even imagine what he feels like after that. You could tell he was frustrated as hell with the guys when he was asked about his 3 point shot before the half. You could tell the lack of effort he saw blew his mind.
I really thought matts return would be a rallying point for this team. I can't believe the team just let him down like that. They really just didnt give a damn tonight about anything let alone winning or trying to at least win one for matt. I can't even put into words how disheartening this was to watch tonight. I was heart broken for matt.
I would agree Sub. Ellis normaly would not even be playing this year (redshirt), I'm good with Gris, love Ramon attitude and D (weak offensively), and Gal for experience in the backcourt (but I think he will be fighting for playing time with the three new backcourters). Those four, Hawk, the four current signees, plus at least two more new signees. The other two spots to additional signees or return players.
You don't give a senior his walking papers. I don't care how bad he sucks. Wendell may never see the court next year, but you don't send him packing.
What if Marty Gross could get him a scholly at Rice?
That's an interesting argument. If that's the case and Wendell was down, I couldn't argue. If someone offered me a twice as prestigious degree and a chance to continue to play basketball, I'd probably take it. I was more concerned with the scenario where you send him to Pine Bluff, etc...
