I don't remember anyone attacking Toure as a person- it was more like voicing frustration with some end of game or end of shotclock situations late in his career. He also received lavish praise as an underclassmen for his heroics in similar situations.

Toure has one more preseason game to completely lock this spot up. It is tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden, and Coach Woodson said he wants to use it as a dress rehearsal for the season opener. Here's hoping TM continues to impress like he's done all summer and fall- nobody deserves a roster spot more than him based on the merits.

Ironicallly, I think a lot of the criticism of Toure's play during his senior year and part of his junior year was a by-product of him being asked to play the PG position for significant stretches of time. Now, his best shot at the Knicks is largely due to his being a 6-5 PG. Guess those short term struggles will pay off for him in the long run....
