Illinois State still continues to surprise me. When does it end??

The ISU program is unreal. I use to have a hell of a lot of respect for them and this new coaching staff has turned a very respectable program into a complete train wreck. What a freaking joke that this kid is playing without missing a single game.

I've never seen such utter desperateness in a college basketball program.

I can say with certainty that Muller is "in over his head".

        ... No really, deuces.

Paul Suellentrop ‏@PaulSuellentrop 10m MVC revises Teddy Hawkins ruling. He can play all games in 2014-15 for Illinois State. Previously had to sit out vs. WSU.

Can we get out of this conference, now?

At this point I think that we should just put in an appeal that we be named automatic bid holder for the MVC in perpetuity. I know the conference rules say it has to be determined by the Valley tournament, but apparently the Valley isn't interested in following its own rules.

Gee, just throw a tent over it! Of course, I'm not sure what circus we're talking about here: the Illinois State program, or the Valley office.

Maybe it just needs to be a reaaaallly big tent.

This is probably the correct ruling. IIRC, the rule specifically used the words "starting classes". If true, that makes the original ruling a swing-and-a-miss, besides being without precedent. Is it too much to ask to get it right the first time?

The pressure for this happening probably didn't come from the Redbirds. I'm sure every other Valley coach and school was PO'd that they would have to face a full Redbird squad and WSU did not. The original "ruling" was as much or more of a penalty to them than to Illinois St.

                            This rings of the truth.

My prediction is that Teddy Ballgame will find a way to either not be eligible or even living in Normal by then.

He should have to sit another year. I'm holding to that. He accepted a scholarship at WSU and there is zero languange in his contract that excuses him if he fails to qualify and his NLI is voided. Otherwise, I think Marshall should recruit any big time athlete signed by any other member school and just let them know that if they fail to make grades then they can go to prep school and join WSU scot-free.
