  • Is terribly subjective....emphasis on terribly. The writer must use an expectation of what your schedule should be as a baseline because otherwise how you can possibly give us a 5 when you give Indiana State a 7?

Indiana St. has Wichita St. on their schedule. Twice. That makes for at least a 7. Yeah, that's in league, but it still plays into the perception. Plus Medcalf is a WSU-hating nimrod.

A weight lifting task that is a 10 in difficulty for me is a 1-2 for a world's strongest man contestant. Difficulty varies by ability. Same principle here.

That's fair. But only if you also include 'ability' to schedule good games to even it out. For instance, Syracuse would probably rate below zero.

His tweets are the first I've heard of it. Oklahoma Baptist for an exhibition game, as well.

                    • Well, Tennessee State finished the regular season at around 105 in the RPI, better than Wright State, at least. They'll feature two returning double-figure scorers, one being former SE product Jordan Cyphers.

W&M? um ... no way to put a happy face on that one, (12-17, 270 RPI) other than to say that they return 6 of 7 top scorers and should be better.

                      • Last year Tennessee State (OVC, 3rd in the East division, 4th overall) had an RPI of 108. They lost 3 of their top 4 scorers, including former Wichitan Jordan Cyphers. They return Patrick Miller (6'1 Sr G, 14.6 ppg) and MJ Rhett (6'9 Jr F, 5.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg).

WMU returns 6 of their top 7 scorers from last year, when they had an RPI of 261, finishing 8th in the 11-team CAA.

I have no idea what's expected of them or who they have coming in, but based on returning players, I could see both being right around 200 RPI, with WMU perhaps a little better. At least on the surface it appears we'll avoid a 250+ RPI stinker in the CBE.

I went to TSU's official site and didn't see Cyphers on the roster. I thought he was a 5th-year senior last season?

                          • Probably correct. I was using cbssports roster and adding a year, but they're not that reliable, maybe.

                            • I'd rather play DII schools than RPI 200+ schools. If this is what we get from the CBE, then the only thing going for it is that it is easy to travel to, and I'm not sure it is worth it for us. Funny, it is a good tournament most years except when we are in it.

Unfortunately I can count my "points" on two hands. :livid: Perhaps I should have taken that Wall St job with Lehman Brothers back in the summer of '08. I'll certainly be a buyer on Sept 26 however.
