Thanks for the heads up. When we stop in West Memphis for gas, I will keep the doors locked while my wife fills the gas tank.

There was a LOT of big rig traffic coming out of Memphis though; that was our only hold-up the entire trip. FWIW, the southern route takes you right by Talladega. From the road I listen (Tune In radio) at home I watch ( season Ticks )

If you go US-60 route, watch the speed traps in southern Missouri. Last time I went that route to Mammoth Spring Ark, it was infested with highway patrol and county mounties... Otherwise it is not a bad ride.
Drove the northern route through St. Louis. It wasn't bad except when we got into Illinois, ran into lots of road construction just across the river from St. Louis...
I hate to backtrack, so I would go south through Oklahoma or take US-60 from WichitaKansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

Well the Kung Wu Superfan Locomotive is leaving the station tomorrow morning. Per @OTR Shockfan: we will be heading the southern route with a layover in EAST Memphis.
Final destination is a hotel we have stayed at before and loved it: Marriott Marquis, which is only about 1.5 miles from the Georgia Dome.
Actually Google says it's 1.6 miles, but 23 minutes away. Are you serious?!Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
