Oh, I'm done now. I know the WSU base is probably one of the most basketball savvy, and I've enjoyed discussions with a number of them over the years. One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch.

    • Why wouldn't Pitino coach for us? Has he had ncaa violations to report in the last 30 years we should know about?

      • And the football coach is on administrative leave. It's a very fluid situation with Louisville. If they fire him and its discovered (well, it's already been discovered) that the NCAA illegally obtained much of the information used to build the case against Hurt, Louisville could be looking at wrongful termination. They could also be on the hook for the show cause. It's delicate and they're handling as best they can.

His major violations that I just mentioned occurred nearly the same time as WSU's. We fired all our coaches that were involved.

An article today in The Lexington Herald-Leader cited a 1977 N.C.A.A. report on sanctions against Hawaii that implicated Pitino in 8 of the 64 violations that led to the university being placed on two years' probation. The N.C.A.A. committee on infractions recommended in 1977 that Pitino and O'Neil be disassociated from Hawaii athletics.
There is the issue of the rape charge... Yes, the woman was crazy, but Pitino did admit to paying her for medical services after having sex with her.

What was your opinion of the whole deal? Do you believe him?

            That's good to hear.

            • The NCAA suggested he leave Hawaii. He left Hawaii. That was that. On the rape charge, give me a break.

I have a question. The guy who's clearly mad has stated, several times, that you have the best handlers left in the tournament. I look deeper into the stats and see that Armstead has a 21.4% turnover rate and Vanvleet has a 24.1% turnover rate. Those are really high numbers. The team as a whole turns it over on 19.5% of its possessions. What am I missing? I believe him when he says you have great ball handlers, but why do they turn it over so often?
Armstead has been known to dribble the ball off his leg or foot. So if your players just stay away from him, it will take care of itself.

                • Basketball, people. I, for one, am looking forward to a great game and a great time in Atlanta.

                  • I don't think we have a chance.

I just put my Final Four tickets up on Ebay and started them at a penny.

Why oh why did we have to be on U of L's side of the bracket. NOBODY can beat their defense. There simply is no solution. Why risk the embarrassment?

I'm with Cdizzle on this one. If not for 14 made treys (most in a decade) we don't beat the zags. I'd hate to rely upon that again. We basically did whatever we wanted against OSU on our way to 20 point 2nd half lead...until Hall and Early had to exit with injuries.

                      • Cold, did you not ask the "old-timers" how to behave now that we have made the final four? Did they not say act like you've been there before?
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Cold you are reminding me of a teenage girl who got dumped the day before the prom and then saw the guy with another girl there.

@_kai_: should ban you again and allow this thead to return to basketball.

Enough is enough. Take your meds, put on your depends, and have the nice nurse put you back in bed.

                            • I think comparing common opponents is a poor way to determine which team is better. But I do think Gonzaga was better than OSU over the season. I think OSU played better late. OSU underwhelmed in early conference play, but at the same time, every loss was to a top 20 opponent. Not many teams can say that. But as Wichita fans have said, you have to beat the best to be the best.
