Went to NOLA for last years final four and talked to some UK fans about tickets. The breakdown goes like this:

    1. Big donors get best seats and held at face value in the WSU section
    2. The primesports/alumni assoc. packages get the next best seats, because the U gets a good kickback, in the WSU section.
    3. Students from the 4 colleges sit behind the baskets in one of the 4 sections on the floor.
    4. There are 20,000 tickets that get sold in 2012 through the lottery
    5. The NCAA sponsors get thier seats as well.
    6. Any other tickets left over (never happens) are released to the public.

Best bets for tickets are NCAA ticket exchange first, then stub hub, then craigslist unless you are in the top 20% in priority points with SASO.

Can't speak for WSU, but what most schools do is offer a lottery, students sign up online. They post a list of who got tickets and give you directions, where to pick them up, etc.

Here is what UK and UL did last year:

Alumni ticket packages sold out. Hopefully a few tickets will still be available through the ticket office.

For students, here's an email Duke sent out a few days ago, even though they didn't make the Final Four:

Why are we so behind on this?

Has anyone who signed up for tickets in the season ticket-holder pre-sale received confirmation that they received tickets? Last time the confirmation came via email. Thanks.

I'm with you MadDog. Plan to be at the ticket office at 8:30 tomorrow.

Just called the ticket office. After trying for 30 minutes to get through and then in the call queue for another 20 minutes, I was told that they are only selling to season ticket holders or SASO members at this time. Also, no idea on where tickets are located as the ticket office has not yet received tickets from NCAA.

Gonna be a tough ticket for us out-of towners who want to attend. While I am a fervant supporter, I won't pay astronomical prices to sit on the upper deck of a football arena to watch a basketball game.

Again people for the third time:

Plenty of options here. Are you with our fans? Maybe, maybe not...but you are in the building.

Quit fighting the ticket office if your only concern is getting inside the dome.

Several of these are face value.

I don't see any lower bowl tickets on craigslist. Will tickets through the Ticket Office be in the lower bowl?

Any idea when or if the tickets will be offered up to non season ticket holders?

If your any kind of fan, get a ticket and go. NCAA ticket exchange is where I got mine. Lower level $525 for all three games. This should be on the bucket list for all sports fans. Of course you can see it better on TV, that's not the point. DVR it while your at the game. This is all about experience and making history. No amount of money would prevent me from watching my Shocks go for a National Title.

I understand waiting on the ticket office at this point if you're a season ticket holder who has already opted in. If not...my god, get on craigslist and go to work. Don't just check craigslist Wichita either- craigslist Raleigh/Durham, Milwaukee, Gainesville, etc. all have multiple listings after losses over the weekend. There will also be a TON of scalpers on site whoring these things out.

And while it would be ideal to be in/near the WSU sections, really, who cares? The upper bowls will be a free-for-all. The lower bowls will have tons of empty seats in the Syracuse/Michigan sections, so even if your ticket is smack dab in the middle of Russ Smith's family caravan you will have no trouble moving to a more neutral location.

Be proactive. The last thing you want is to be that whiny guy on Saturday saying "no one would help me figure out how to get tickets." It's pretty damn easy if you're not lazy.
