Technically it's not Ron Baker Day anymore but I have a feeling that anytime from now on that Ron is in Wichita or Scott City it will feel like it's his day to him.
Ron Baker is the kind of player that gets even better when the lights are on. I simply cannot believe how our team changes with him in the game. He came from a little town in the middle of nowhere Kansas and then walks into LA like he owns the freakin' place. There's no way he's a freshman. At his current rate of progress, he will be an assistant coach by the time he is a senior? Player/coach Ron Baker anyone? He just gets better every game.
Both Ron and Fred, on top of being excellent skilled athletes, understand the game at a very, very high level. Their BBIQ is off the charts. They make others better.
THEN they take it another step...when the lights are brightest, when the pressure is at the apex, they're even BETTER because they are gamers.
If the next game comes down to 1 possession, I promise you one of these 2 STUDS is going to send us to Atlanta.
Baker couldn't have turned on the mojo at a better time. His first NCAA tournament game, he was a little mediocre. Don't get me wrong, he hit his free throws and played his defense. Nothing wrong with that.
But those next two games! 66% from 3 point land in both of them!
Gonzaga: 4/6 from three with 2 of them being big time threes
LaSalle: 2/3 from three and a blocked shot. A BLOCKED SHOT!!
***** Ron Baker is one of the best players on our team. Absolute stud. You are going to have to chain the women to their beds because every one in Wichita is going to want to give it up to Ron Baker when he comes home.

Women, Hell - I'm feelin' a little aroused myself . . . (oohh, did I say that in my outloud typing?)
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .
