LaSalle is a better team than I thought, but they are very beatable. If K-State would have played in the first half like they did in the second half against the Explorers, KSU wins that game going away. We should be able to win this game as long as we come to play.

Totally worthless but fun- Nate Silver's Tournament Advancement Odds for the remaining teams:
Need help with your N.C.A.A. bracket? Nate Silver is estimating each team’s chance of advancing to any given stage of the N.C.A.A. bracket. View his estimates as a table and read his pre-tournament analysis.
Nate built his career in sports before he got famous as the NYT 538 blogger. He has us with 71.0% chance of going to the Elite 8 and a 23.6% chance at the Final 4.
KU is listed with a 54.4% chance at the Elite 8 and 23.3% chance at the Final 4.

Welp, the East Coast Bias Network leads their Sportscenter tonight with La Salle and FGCU coverage. All noteworthy of course, but WSU is not getting a breath. Maybe, we're just expected to things like these now? D-bag SC guy is all over La Salle.
Time to knock some of that east coast crap out of the water.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Don't get emboldened by a team's inferior seed. La Salle is currently in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1955, the year they went to the national championship game. I can assure you their fanbase, players, coaches, alumni, are thinking right along the same lines as us. They feel like destiny is on their side and they are going to win.
Everybody in Shocker Nation must treat this game as a national championship game. We need to leave it all on the floor. La Salle needs to be thought of as Duke, Kentucky, KU, Gonzaga, etc. all rolled up in one. We need to be flying from the tip. If we blow them out then I will love to eat my hat, but I have a strong feeling that this will be BY FAR our toughest game of the tournament. My prediction would be that if we beat La Salle we are going to the Final Four. If La Salle beats us they are going to the Final Four.
LET'S GO TO WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Time to knock some of that east coast crap out of the water.
- expects the Shox to beat LaSalle
- thinks they have a good chance to make the Final Four
- says Marshall is a STUD of a coach - especially getting where they are this year when nobody expected to be close to where we are
- also says last year's team was better, just got a really bad draw with VCU
- confirmed to KK that most other coaches respect Marshall, but few would want to have a beer with him. Said he definitely has an edge about him which works with this team.
- said Marshall had told him personally in the past that he loves WSU and it would (paraphrasing) take a top type 3 job to get his attention (UCLA not a good fit but although Jason speculated that Memphis would be an example of a team that might get his attention and would be a good fit)
of course Jason lives in Kansas City and does not have the east coast bias, which he and KK actually talked about...
podcast should be up by tomorrow on the site if not sooner...Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

Just observing.
I guess I'm more upset that FGCU used their time on SportsCenter to chant "F**K the GATORS" on national tv. I thought that was pretty classy.Deuces Valley.

Here are some stats that few, if any, care anything about. However, they hit my hot button.
Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2013 NCAA Men's Post Season Basketball Tournament
Games played - 48 (Excludes play-in games)
Average number of turnovers by winning teams - 12
Average number of turnovers by La Salle - 10
Average number of turnovers by the Shockers - 13
Average number of turnovers by Shocker opponents - 14
Average number of personal fouls by winning teams - 15
Average number of personal fouls by La Salle - 16
Average number of personal fouls by the Shockers - 21
Average number of personal fouls by Shocker opponents - 22
When the game score is close, stats like these become critical.
RDR, I totally agree with you regarding TO/PF analysis, but some times you have to look at the games and the style in which they were played. No doubt, if WSU does not reduce the number of TOs and PFs, they will need to repeat their shooting performance of Saturday.
Good BBIQ = Taking care of the ball and playing defense with your feet first, hands second.

Truly a Sweet 16 field for everyoneWichita State is the ignored middle child. The Shockers played second fiddle to the Doug McDermott Show all season in the Missouri Valley. But while the Bluejays return to Omaha, Neb., and move on to the Big East, Wichita State is still playing, with a blessing, no less, from Tim Tebow.
That's like the sports version of laying on of hands.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!
