  • That "shot" by Elijiah will seal his fate. With his popular status amongst the Jayhawk fans (see sarcasm), he's now shown the entire country his true person. There is no way that's a "heat of the moment" play - that's just a reflection of how his mind works to get through life. Thank goodness we got Demetric of those two. Thank goodness Karma got him, and by extension, his team for that act.

What are the odds of a foul, a make, a miss, an o rebound, and another make to tie? Maybe 5%? MAYBE?

Ok, what are the odds of a foul, 2 makes, a foul, no makes and a basket to lose? Add in 2 makes and my scenario above (less that 1% I'd say) or any other FT exchange that all benefit KU?

This is about math....and the numbers simply do not support letting them shoot a 3. But they are basketball coaches, not mathematicians, so I understand why they get it wrong most of the time.
      This!

This is a good point. I too am glad we have DWill.

Do you take the blue blood guy who punches people in the nuts and ultimately loses, or do you take the blue collar guy who plays hard and clean, through injury, and ultimately advances farther against the odds?

:) this is making me think DWill has a nice game today. He is due and certainly deserving.

STICK IT TO ELIJAH JOHNSON TONIGHT, DWILL!!! In a clean way that is. Time to collect your 'scoreboard' reference on him.

          • Yep. Right there for the entire country to see from multiple angles. What a *****.

            • It was replayed on TV about a dozen times while the referees reviewed it.

Reminds me of a joke 40 or more years ago. Arnold Palmer bet a local guy (call him "Joe") $10,000 for 18 holes of golf, even up, but Joe's handicap was he could use two gotchas when ever he chose. After hitting a 350 yard drive, an approach to 8 feet and sinking the putt for a birdie, Joe rendered unto Arnie the first gotcha. In the clubhouse following, Arnie was writing his check to Joe. When asked how could local Joe ever beat Arnie, Mr. Palmer replied,"Do you know how difficult it is to concentrate on golf knowing that another gotcha is coming?"

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

                    • good article... I've always thought we got the better of the two even though Demetric has caused me to rip out hair.
with that said I am still amazed that Elijah did not take that shot at the end. wide freaking open

I don't think he was supposed to take that shot. I think Michigan was supposed to collapse on him and he was supposed to kick the ball out for a 3 to win the game. Michigan played that possession to let KU have the tie, but to not let KU get the W.

When Michigan didn't collapse on Johnson, Johnson probably could have cut his route a little more toward the bucket instead of the baseline and gotten 2 points for the tie, but things happen really fast in those situations. It can take a moment to react to an unexpected situation. When there are only 4 seconds on the clock, a moment is a relatively huge amount of time.

My only thought the whole sequence is how in the hell is he so wide open

                              • Good news for many here: John Higgins is doing the Syracuse vs. Marquette game, so he won't be near us. We're also very familiar with the other two refs: Verne Harris and Randy McCall.
