I just think that with all we have happening imagine what it would be like if we had a full squad...whoa...we would be something else...and to Mantas...from my experience..not a good thing I was told never again however things have changed since I did it to mine.

A friend of mine has torn the ACL in his knee 2 or 3 times. The most recent time (last year) didn't require surgery. He still plays volleyball, basketball and softball. He's 48.

I suffered a complete ACL tear 12 years ago this month and I have never been fully healed.


I look forward to 10 years from now when I am 50 and probably will walk with a cane unless I get my knee replaced. And I was lucky enough to have the services of the best surgeon in the area.


I shed more than one tear for Mantas last night. I hope I will pray for him more than I cry for him in the future.

Both ACLs for me (one in 84, one in 85, but not repaired until 97) but, thankfully, no re-tears, and no MCL tears. It certainly changed the way I played sports, though I certainly couldn't have played at a high level had I never torn them.

The advances in technology between my two reconstructions was extraordinary. The first was a five hour affair with a several day hospital stay and weeks, if not months, in a cast (Dr. Henning, God rest his soul). The second was done in a morning, I was home in the afternoon, and walking within a week (Dr. Jannson).

Neither experience, and the numerous related meniscus tears, etc. has been a whole lot of fun, I must say.

That damned meniscus is the worst part of the whole ordeal.

Saw this on the Fox Sports News tonight. This was a statement by Phil Thomasson.

On Mantas Griskenas’s injury:
“It’s heartbreaking. He was coming around. You could see it in every aspect of his life. He was smiling more and interacting more with the guys on the team, just kind of opening up. It’s a crushing blow to him and to our team. He was being the player we knew he could be. It hurts to lose him, but we will all be around for him. Hopefully he can get back and play the rest of his career here.”

his acl was torn and his mcl was damaged.
he is having surgury monday.

Well coach marshall was quoted on his post game interview, that he could be done for his career, but didnt say with 100 percent certainly, he was kind of just speculating

Before we all fly off the handle, let's wait for all our modern marvels of medicine to take a look at him. Wichita has wonderful doctors and facilities. If they can keep him playing, I have no doubt they will.

At this point, there is no reason to believe that he will not play next year.
