How about a prison league? Make the right call or get shanked. Or worse.

And he can stay in the CUSA as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe he had to go to the bathroom really bad and didn't want the game to go into overtime.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

That would explain why he whizzed down his leg on that call

He could work with former head coach at WSU Randy Smithson doing Y league games.

Was this possibly the same official that did not grant our timeout when CH caught the ball at halfcourt?

Could be as little as a written letter in his file stating his mistake. This is documentation for additional discipline at a later time depending on how mistakes he makes. Maybe more too. There is no way to know.

I'm still not clear whether the mistake was missing the call or making the call.

Based off of where the officials were positioned on the bad call, I would say no. Randall was at the Trail position and because of that, would have been at lead on the other end of the court. Whoever was at C (Center) on one end would have stayed there for the transition and would have been the one nearest the WSU bench and the one that would be expected to be aware of coach. With that said, 3G should have informed him of their plans to call one. If not, and depending on noise level, it can be hard to hear. Especially when you're concentrating on a last second play in which I'd guess he'd be responsible for calling the shot good or not.

I would guess if he had, the whistle would have been blown pretty much as soon as Hall caught the ball. Maybe he assumed that the official knew what was going to happen. Although, it seemed as if Carl didn't know that the plan was to catch and call timeout as he immediately turned and shot.

I'd say it was missing the opportunity to not make a bad call.

I still have a number of questions about this game and call.
First, I am a fan and I am STILL UPSET!!!

                              Now to my questions:
                              1. Why didn't the other two officials come together and reverse the call, I've seen offiicals do that a lot?
Why be upset that another official made a bad call at the end of the game, make the right decision.

                              2. If the call was wrong, why can't WSU at the end of the regular season on Tuesday before the MVC tournament go back up to SIU and play the overtime?

                              3. Did the other officials agree with the call?

                              4. Is the MVC office saying that he missed the call?

These are just some of my questions. This call is very important. It may impact WSU going to the NCAA Tournament.
It could impact the seed. It could impact the regular season champion. That's a big call.

For those that say that WSU should have played better, I say that one has nothing to do with the other.
Let's say that I went to a bar and someone punched a guy in the mouth.
I then decide to hit him with a bottle. The fact that someone else punched him is no excuse for my behavior.

                                1. Game management is certainly in question....but the opportunity to correct that with a different call was probably not there.
                                2. There is no mechanism for that. The game is over and official, period.
                                3. No. Reports of shouting matches between the officials after the game.
                                4. Kind of...what the said is they don't want officials deciding games in the closing seconds. I'm not sure that was the best thing to say.
