I said I would be satisfied with the closest of wins on the road and the Shocks walk out of JQH Arena with a 10-point win in hand. That I will gladly take. I was not particurlarly pleased with the lack of focus, intensity and energy that the Shocks exhibited in the 1st 25 minutes of the game, but perhaps not totally surprised by it coming of the high of the Creighton game. However, I was pleased that they bowed their backs and fought back when the absolutely had to. Good senior leadership from Carl, Mal and D-Will with a huge assist from Cleanthony who responded very well to 3G challenging him to step up. Also loved the 2 put backs on offensive rebounds by Tekele. Those were big.

This team ain't especially pretty in the way the go about things, but they are particularly effective.

Congrats To D-Will on his 99th win as a Shocker taking the all time lead.

Now let's come back home and rip Bradley a new one.

Maybe the blue birdees can blame the refs again--or maybe it was a stinkin bulldawg conspiracy theory--or maybe a late blue, blue Christmas? Regardless of the exuses, the sky is blue and falling in Omaha--we are in 1st place right now---and they are Not!!! They went into a similar funk about this time last Season and they started playing much better later, so we have much buswax to still tend to of our own, one win at a time.

If Creighton is already dropping games now, what the hell are they going to do when their legs are gone at the end of conference play again?

Whether it us versus Evansville or Creighton versus Drake....I will never understand such disparities in free throws.


Of course, I don't mind at all that we are in first place......ALL ALONE.

Do our players not get flu shots? It's ridiculous how many games we've played with one or more guys battling illness. Need to beat Drake, regardless. Drake played well for Drake, but it's not like they were shooting the lights out. We just somehow managed to let three of their bench players combine for 40+ points.

I don't know how you could win at Drake with your best player a little sick. It would almost be as impossible as winning at Drake by 12 with 3 starters out with injury. Crazy!!!

*giggling* I can't win for losing around here. I knew this game would be a stinker (coming off an emotional win), but had I posted what I was thinking, I would have got bashed for being negative. I get on wondering if we looked at a Wichita kid and I still get dumped on.

The reason I posted the question is that I'm tired of seeing talented Wichita kids not being locked down by us. So pull out your pantie wedgie and downshift a little.

Oh and to answer your question, I had predicted the three game losing streak to come against EU, ISU red and Creighton. But now that you mention it, I will predict another three game losing streak...later

As meatloaf would say, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. But 1 out of 3 kinda is.

Yes, but losing Dougie is like losing your whole team, in actuality. When the rest of your squad consists of a thug, 5 three point shooters and a decent big man.

I'm just glad that the Shocks have shown that we don't have to rely on three point shooting to win as do, oh, the rest of the conference.

If we're making threes, the other team stands little to no chance of beating us. As long as we recognize that we can't hit (cough) White, (cough) cotton.
