Again, really happy this guy is back in the Valley. We need more Barry Hinsons, not less.

Watching the 2 coaches work last night was worth more than the price of admission, a lot more.

Does anyone know if the band is promoting their work at all? They should.

Don't forget Garrett's girl friend who looks like she is about 4 foot tall next to Garrett. Even when they were standing side by side I think they had to use their cell phones to converse.

It appears the big fella traded in for a new model. Always good to see former Shockers in the house!

As Doc said technology such as the sound-dampening head phones the announcers use tend to mute the sound you hear over tv and radio, plus I'm sure other technology I'm totally unaware off.

Also, keep in mind the length and number of timeouts during TV games. That plus all the marketing gimics during timeouts makes it very difficult for the crowd to sustain its energy.

The crowd was plenty loud last night when it needed to be loud. There was one very long timeout (seemed like 4 minutes) in the second half where the crowd remained cheering throughout the timeout and continuing into play.

Three things generally take the starch out of the crowd. A poor play by the Shocks, a good play by the opponent or an officials call any of one of which changes the momentum or causes a stoppage of the action.

As with most games there were several instances where the crowd tried to get the Shocks going but the team did not respond and the crowd backed off. But when the Shocks did get rolling the crowd was rolling.

Barry is a very good coach. Missery State was so stupid to get rid of him. Barry knew what he had to do to quiet the crowd. He just needed about 5 more timeouts. He knew exactly what the crowd would do for the home team, and it happened.

I've been thinking about this game. I feel like we lose this game if it is on the road. The crowd definitely helped bring the team back. They wouldn't have gotten that in Carbondale. Of course, this is assuming that SIU played like that in the scenario as well.

You hit the nail on the head here. I believe the media timeouts are bad for the game and need to be scaled back to the 5's instead of the 4's.

Not sure how accurate this is, but Bob Lutz said on Sports Daily this morning that Quick Change will be at the Illinois State game next Wednesday.

Quick Change is probably the No. 1 half-time show in college basketball and has been for some time. They do NBA games also.

There half-time act is a little longer than this video. I think they have been at Shockers games 3 times previously. Always very entertaining and fascinating.
