At hockey games in Philly in the 70s, a group of five of us used to scream at those leaving with 5 minutes left, "Where did you buy your ticket for half a game"?
You guys are the same fans that booed Santa Claus.
Seems to me that the Cheer Squad and Band should be hand-in-glove. They should get together along with any student that wants to attend, have a creative workout group, come up with some creative cheers, plan it/communicate it/do it. The Cheer Squad could pass out flyers to the students prior to the game, advising the plan of action and let it take off from there. This should be an on-going process. The best cheers get passed on year-after-year.
It can't be that difficult. Band / Cheer Squad / Students.
Even a Blowout it's inexcusable in my book ,, I will give a lil on inclement weather and travel distances ,, But those young men on the court are puttin out the effort to entertain and thrill you as an audience,, and the reward for thier effort is turned backs with time left on the clock ?? what would all them folks who got up and left at the 4 min mark think of the team and coaches goin ,, Oh ! Ok guess we can go to the locker room now ,,,games over acording to the fans ,, never mind the other team will continue without us ,,, Just hogwash i tell ya
I don't get the land rush either. It's not even like it was a 7:00 game ending at 9. It was a 5:00 game ending at 7 so the "work the next day" excuse, unless you're going in at 2 or 3 in the morning, doesn't really fly. I mean you spend the money on tickets and these are probably the same people who get here as the ball is being tipped off and then are the first ones to leave with about 5 or 6 minutes left. Wow, you cheapened your entertainment and fandom to an hour and a half for the night. Way to go and make it home before 60 Minutes comes on! Woooooo!
I know blowouts can get a little boring for some people. But how quickly some forget when we were the ones on the other end of those blowouts a decade or two ago. I can understand maybe if OUR team was the one getting it handed to them and couldn't take it anymore. I mean would you rather it be a close 2 or 3 point game? Would that be better for those people? Are the Shockers just too good at home sometimes?
I just have to laugh that all some of these people have in them is about 35 minutes of viewable basketball. Because God forbid 40 minutes is too much to handle.

... No really, deuces.

And finally, the war chant. Why does a student body of a place of higher learning want to yell such an inane, stereotypical, thug type diatribe? Makes zero sense when there are so many really good things a group of smart kids could come up with!
lol, wow. Really? Well, apparently it wasn't inane, stereotypical, or thuggish enough for the WSU Administration, who gladly put the chant up on the scoreboard for everyone to see, as requested by Coach Marshall. If that's the worst thing Shocker fans will be chanting in the stands, well then, that would likely put us above about 80-90% of other Division I schools.

Well don't look to my section on Sunday evening games, as you will be yet again miffed. A Sunday nite blowout will guarantee I leave at the under 4 timeout. Work indeed starts at 7 a.m. on Monday, and it's a good five hour drive home from Charles Koch Arena to my house. Impressing you, surprisingly, isn't my foremost concern when attending a basketball game.

I don't think you're the one drawing the ire of some of us. I just don't believe we have 3,000 Shocker fans that live 5 hours away attending games, but I could be wrong..
Sunday at 5 is a little better than Sunday at 7. This too happens for the Saturday night games as well. Again, your situation is understandable. I don't think most others have that same arrangement. That's the ones we're talking about.

LOL no kidding. Since we are on the subject of stuff that irritates us. One that tops my list is the super-sensitive politically correct bunch, which is a group that grows each day. Can't say or do ANYTHING that doesn't offend someone these days. I personally just don't care. If I offend you, just ignore me. That's the way I feel.

Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.
People are going to do what they are going to do and there is no way you can control this unless we adopt a new commandment which states that no one can leave until the Fat Lady sings.
Look at it on the bright side, the more people who leave before the game ends means your exit out of the parking lot and drive home will be a lot less hectic.

Thanks for the info.
When your not practicing, someone somewhere is and when you meet him...he'll beat you.

Well, it wasn't anywhere near 3,000. Plus the only one that responded had a legit excuse, perhaps others do as well. For me, it was mildly irritating, that's all.

Amen, Fever.
Thanks for your opinion, Fredster. Noted. Now take your teeth out and go back to bed.
