Poll Watch, 2012-13 Edition

There were A LOT of teams that lost yesterday.

Combine that with a big win over a Top 12 team on national tv, 17-2, and well Seth Davis has already let the cat out of the bag.



We will be ranked tomorrow, guaranteed. The question is, do we move past our previous high of #23?

It's amazing how much a win over a ranked team on national TV can help. These voters don't get to see that many games, so when you have a chance to impress them, you have to make the most of it, and we did. Time to reap the rewards. I predict #19.

I think the other thing at work is that WSU has only two losses. Many teams above have 3,4 losses.

If WSU is getting top 20 votes from people that weren't voting for them at all, then what are the people that had them ranked voting at? That is the bigger question. This could be a huge jump by poll standards.

Honestly, I don't know nor care where we will be ranked. Well, that's not precisely true. I do care IF we are ranked, just not hung up on where in the top 25 we land. I understand the mentality of high school seniors though and the higher the better for recruiting. The trick is to STAY there. As someone previously said -- third times a charm (and let's hope it sticks this time).

Don't see us above Creighton at all. Surely Creighton didn't fall that far. They were ranked 12th and 10th respectively. I see maybe a one or two point drop but nothing too damaging.

I suspect that Creighton drops to 16, and WSU gets 21. That's my guess for the AP.

He didn't say that we will be above Creighton in the final poll. But some pollsters are voting us above Creighton now. This didn't happen before Saturday.

I will predict that the Shockers come in at #23 (+/-1).

Really underestimated the power of the win against Creighton. The wind was really at our back this weekend. In fact, someone better get out the Red Flags.

The key is to have some staying power in the polls. Don't fall into Wednesday being a trap game. Kill SWMO. Take care of business at home. Establish a body of work to get inside the top-15. Then, IF we slip up against UNI or ISUB, it won't send us to the "other" category. Lets continue building our body of work Wednesday. Go SHOX!!!
