For those with ESPNU, how was the VCU gym? Was it sold out and did it live up to THEIR hype?

Gregg Marshall, best road coach around. Were we not the best in the nation on the road last year?
Very comfortable with Malcolm at the point. Did a solid, solid, job.
Carl had to play far more minutes than in any game last year. He said he had worked on his conditioning.
Ron, first D1 road game is in VCUs gym. I'd say it was an acceptable road debut. Wait till he gets several under his belt.
Cleanthony, keep shooting. They will fall.

Shows how far the program has advanced. Not too long ago we'd be forced to start a freshman (no matter how talented).

I thought Fred actually played very well while he was in there, and he shouldn't have to wear at least 1 (if not all 3) of the turnovers.

The last 2 years we've been so solid on D but this team absolutely GETS FREAKING AFTER IT on D.

And I LOVE the hustle on the floor getting loose balls....freaking LOVE IT!

People will look at the shooting % and think it was poorly played but the other team had a lot to do with those %s.

Great win, yet so many different ways to get better.

It was ugly but we will take it. I think Early got away with goaltending at the end.

All evened out since they didn't bother to mop their floor.

This deserves a bump. They've been good to Shocker fans for years and always get my patronage when I come back to town.

Not many places in town will mute a KU game against a ranked team.

Believe it or not, Buffalo Wild Wings had the Shocker game audio and on the bigger TV's than the KU game. After KU lost, all of us Shocker fans scared them with our screaming with that Malcolm dagger. They weren't paying attention... ;)

I thought Fred played pretty decent also. Pretty composed dude considering the atmosphere and 1st Div 1 road game. I think he has looked more comfortable each game. Nice that we have a stud in Armstead that we can bring VanVleet along slowly.

Also, Early is going to great once his shot begins to fall. Seriously, our leading scorer and he looked terrible. Once he begins to get his offensive game going, he'll be incredible. Stat stuffer. Did I mention we had 7 blocks?

I just got home from watching the game at Emmersons and have not read this whole thread so forgive me if I repeat someone else but we won this game on heart and guts That is one of the most unpolished Shocker teamsI have seen in the last few years but they got it done. This was a really good win and should do alot for confidence come conference play . Armstead...his shot does not look good but the last one looked solid...hope that gives him some confidence...the rest of his game is as good as it gets.

Marshall pointed out our starting back court both paid their own way last year. Simply amazing.
