Originally posted by CBB_Fan View PostJust to clarify, I do know that college basketball is divided into halves, not quarters. I still mentally divide the game into 4 segments of 10 minutes each, but in reality the game is actually divided into 5 parts per half, with media timeouts every 4 minutes. Minimum I see Orukpe getting is 8 minutes a game (starting both halves and playing 4 minutes each), with a maximum of 20-24ish because of our center depth (Hall can't play 30+ minutes a game with his heart condition, so I want him mostly playing PF and Early playing mostly SF).
If worst comes to worst, I think you'll see Hall play almost entirely at center, with short spells a couple times a game from Orukpe. Early plays PF pretty much exclusively, leaving SF to committee (given Wiggins reported struggles, we could even see Wessel starting here). However, it is possible that Wiggins, not Derail Green, will redshirt (is he eligible?), leaving Wessel as our starting SF and Green as the backup. I see Baker and Cotton getting minutes at all three backcourt positions, but Armstead and Williams are going to be our starters. In a better form:
Worst Case Scenario:
PG: Armstead>FVV>Cotton>Baker
SG: Williams>Cotton>Baker
SF: Wessel>Green>Baker>Cotton
PF: Early>Green>Hall
C: Hall>Orukpe=Lufile
Best Case Scenario:
PG: PG: Armstead>FVV>Cotton>Baker
SG: Williams>Cotton>Baker
SF: Wiggins>Wessel
PF: Early>Hall
C: Orukpe>Hall>Lufile

If it makes you feel better, I don't do this with just Wichita State. Actually, I made a spreadsheet last year to track the stats of every D1 school, calculate their win score and that of all of their opponents, and then the amount of change their defense and offense had on the opponent. Basically, the stats for 345 teams, plus the schedules of each of them. I did this by hand.
I also have a spreadsheet with every NBA draft pick in the modern era, to let me compare players by draft position, year, college, or pro stats. Also, the I have the average career stats by draft position, and I'm working on the season stats for every player to derive the numerical change year-to-year by position and stat.

Why do I want that?
Because he wins basketball games. He may retire as the winningest player in WSU history.
Other guy: yeah but he's injured! And his stats are pretty regular...
Coach: Do I look like a care about that? Well?
You do not, sir
