Doesn't having to maintain a minimum GPA?
Doesn't having to enroll in a minimum 12 hours?
Doesn't being benched for breaking "arbitrary" rules?

The court system, not the NCAA, has killed amateur and college sports.
This sounds like a case could be made that any restrictions whatsoever could be considered taking away a players NIL opportunities.

So in essence college sports becomes the TBT. Play forever if you can. Join the team the day before the game. It’s all good!

My first thought exactly. Surely Ramon, Carl, Cle, etc. would like to come back and wear the black and yellow for a season or two.

What are they making overseas? How much to assemble one of our TBT teams and get them enrolled in graduate school?

                • Is this ruling immediate?

Personally, I'll enjoy 2 more seasons of the QB at Vandy (unless he transfers, which is about 1,000,000% guaranteed) .

Closer to home, apparently we've got an entirely new prospect of a baseball program.

HCBG is almost there anyway, but why in the world would you recruit high school players anymore? Give me a team of 23-26 year olds all day, every day.

Mo gets another year. Ryan Callahan 1 more, Livvy 2 more. Think those guys would like to be on a FULL ride for grad school in spring '26? Think we would be better or worse if they stayed? (And I get that's an issue too) All the incoming guys are essentially freshmen......

Munz, Zang, Anderson, HOLMES are all sophomores. Colton Vercoe, a kid who has been getting good reviews after finally getting arm healthy this fall, might be a 22 year old freshman.

Grant Adler is a junior, and might get a hardship (and he would). Mount is a sophomore.

Jordan Black is a gd tank as a freshman now. And about 8 other potential new guys to the program. I just don't see why you'd want a freshman out of HS when you can get a 20-22 year old freshman.

The ruling is technically calling out only one person. That said the court precedent in now there, so the NCAA isn't going to even try anything. I'd expect a quick rule change.

Like you said, I think this affects baseball much more than basketball.

I actually don't mind this ruling as much as some of the other recent ones .. BUT it opens the door. I'm just waiting for the ruling that limiting players to 4 years at all limits their NIL potential so players should be able to play college ball as long as they want.

Then why should a player have to even go to school. That just limits their NIL potential....

I hope you’re enjoying the basketball being coached by a quiet nice guy now. You probably go to every game like you did 10 years ago too.

Check my join date, dumbass. Think that might have been a significance? Nice job assessing my fandom based on me being critical of the guy who was fired from my alma mater for hitting players.

When you learn new information about a person, say, their past indiscretions, you're allowed to alter your viewpoint of the person. It may be tough for some of you, but I really believe if you pull up your bootstraps and put on your thinking cap, you might just grow. It might require you jumping off the internet for a while though, which I know is tough considering you have posted on a fan forum 40,000 times.

Those 7. Put chain link around the court, throw this years team in there, and lock the gate.

                              • Baseball will be different in that if you want to get to MLB level, you probably shouldn’t be starting initial pro ball at age 25.

But yeah, I’m about done with all this college crap. I wish I could move away from Wichita area so that the temptation to follow WSU wouldn’t be there. Probably easier to ignore from afar.
