Head to head decides other 2 way (2 way only) ties as follows:
Temple wins over WSU
Rice WSU is determined by tonight's game
WSU wins over UTSA
WSU wins over Tulsa (as described above)
Tulane WSU is decided when they play.
As I mentioned earlier, any tie that includes Temple (whether it's 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) is a loss for us that keeps us playing on Wednesday with one exception where both Temple and WSU finish with 6 wins and the other 4 are at 5 or 4 wins. In that scenario, Temple finishes 8th and we finish 9th, both missing Wednesday.

Both teams are 0-1 vs USF. Even if Tulsa would beat USF on Senior night, it wouldn't matter, according to the tiebreaker (we could also finish 1-1 were we to play USF again)
Tulsa is 1-1 v Charlotte while we're 0-1. That doesn't decide it either.
We're 0-2 v FAU and Tulsa is 0-1. That also doesn't break the tie.
We're 0-2 v Memphis and Tulsa is 0-1. No blood there.
We're 1-0 v SMU and Tulsa is 0-1. That wins for us.
We're 1-0 v UAB and Tulsa is 0-1. That also wins for us.
Both teams are 0-1 vs N Texas. No blood.
We're 0-2 vs ECU and Tulsa is 0-1. No blood.
WSU wins the head to head tiebreaker vs Tulsa, no matter the outcome of any other game. Because SMU and UAB can't be caught by Rice, we'll win any 2 way tie with Tulsa.

Well a couple things were cleared up today. The Shocks can no longer win a bizarre tiebreaker with 5 wins to stay out of Wednesday's first round.
They must beat Tulane to have a shot. If the Shocks beat Tulane, then they need Temple to lose to either Charlotte at home or at UTSA AND Tulsa OR Rice to lose a game. Both Tulsa and Rice could still get to 7 wins and keep us 11-14 (unlikely though as Tulsa has USF at home and Rice is at Charlotte and North Texas at home) even if we beat Tulane.
Since we lose all tiebreaks with Temple, it's only worthwhile to look at scenarios without them winning 6.
In a 3 way tie with Rice and Tulsa (Tulsa loses to USF and Rice wins one of two and it doesn't matter which one) then Tulsa is 3-1 and gets the 9 seed and we beat Rice and get the 10 seed. Rice would get the 11 seed.
In a 3 way tie with UTSA and Tulsa (again, Tulsa loses to USF and UTSA beats Temple) we win at 2-1, Tulsa and UTSA would tie and go to a further tiebreaker for 10th. Tulsa would probably win with a 1-1 record v Charlotte while UTSA is 0-2. If SMU finished higher than Charlotte, Then UTSA would win 1-0 vs Tulsa 0-1. Regardless, WSU is not playing Wednesday in this scenario. Even if RIce were to win both games against Charlotte and North Texas to get to 7 wins and get the 9 seed, WSU gets the 10 seed based on the same tiebreakers.
There are no other possible 3 way ties with WSU at 6 wins (that WSU wins).
If a 4 way tie happens with Tulsa, WSU, UTSA & Rice (Tulsa loses to USF, UTSA beats Temple and Rice beats either UNT or Charlotte) Tulsa is 4-2, WSU 3-1, UTSA 2-3 and Rice 1-4. We're the 9 seed at .750 Tulsa then wins the remaining 3 way tie for 10th and a lot of work has to be done to separate UTSA and Rice for 11 and 12.
The other 4 way tie for 9th at 6 is if Tulsa loses to USF, Rice beats either UNT or Charlotte, Temple beats Charlotte & UTSA and WSU beats Tulane. In that scenario Tulsa and Temple are both 3-2 and Rice and WSU are 2-3. Tulsa beats Temple for 9th, Temple is 10th, we're 11th and Rice is 12. So again, any tiebreaker that includes Temple, we lose.
WSU has to beat Tulane AND have Temple lose at least 1 of their remaining 2 games AND either Tulsa lose to USF or Rice lose to Charlotte or North Texas.Last edited by WuDrWu; March 3, 2024, 12:06 AM.

Rice losing to Charlotte or Tulsa losing to South Florida seems like pretty sure bets. probably worried more about Temple who has a couple easier games and had won 3 in a row before they just lost to Tulsa. us actually weighing at Tulane would probably be the biggest upset in the whole equation I suppose.
