  • Mind boggling they priced fans out of the arena for a summit league game

Actually, this is the only rational explanation. The guy making the initial decision probably assumed it was _the_ SDSU, set some guidelines for his staff, and then went on to the next project without ever catching the initial mistake?

      • Truly remarkable. Saal may not be responsible for the way things are going specifically but ultimately, it’s on his watch. A black eye for sure. Don’t think you could do a worse job making WSU fans happy about anything associated with this game.

        ... No really, deuces.

Wait. Are you saying you think there may possibly be a line for ticket sales at the door for this game at Intrust? Somebody PLEASE post a picture of the lines waiting to buy tickets at $75 each plus fees.

Especially if any of them are dressed like this.

          • This seemingly was all handled poorly. Has to be better next time. Make sure you note it in future interactions with AD / Athletics.

I kind of understand limiting exposure in some instances, but promoting a game? How much exposure could you have? I think it's more about people finding ways to do less. Like with so many other things, the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction.

For instance, why does WSU use a travel agency? That's a completely unneeded middle man that does not have our best interest at heart. They have THEIR best interest at heart and that means making money. You can be professional AND efficient. It is possible to do 2 things at once. Just paying someone else to do your job because someone else does it shouldn't be the bar.

I'm not saying any of it is easy....but anything worth doing rarely is. I get the hours for athletics aren't just 9-5....but there's a better way...especially when we're paying the bills.
Only possible advantage (though not as applicable anymore) is that by having a promoter, it can be considered a neutral game, which helps for NET purposes. It seems like I heard that it was run through a promoter last year too for OSU game.

But yeah, I’m with you. Don’t ever do this again.

Taylor just posted an article ... and yea its exactly that. Though probably is doing more harm than good at these prices. Losing even more goodwill with the fanbase in exchange for a slightly better NET treatment

                • Converting a home game with South Dakota State to a neutral game with South Dakota State is probably not worth all of the extra hassle and BS.

It makes me think that the K-State game will be downtown again next season. I suppose that doesn’t matter quite as much since our season ticket base has shrunk.

Let’s see… we signed a four year agreement with kstate, with only one game to be played on the Shockers home court. If somehow we agreed to move that sole game to Intrust, that would truly be the ultimate slap in the face to our fan base. I just can’t believe they would even consider such a thing.

                      • Looks like they are doing last minute price slash. Quite a few more 15 dollar tickets

Yup, I only noticed because I posted something on Taylors article about pricing and both him and some other randoms were like "15 dollars is really cheap to get in" ... There were like twenty 30 dollar seats this morning .. everything else was 50-75

And just pissing off those who have already bought, particularly in the last 48 hours.

                              • They added 2 rows of $15 seats in the 4 end zone sections, not a big deal for anyone unless you are looking for another excuse to pissnmoan. BFD

All the chronic complainers need to buy those $15 seats and then slide over into those damn $75 seats and chill, that’ll show the man!
