All the chronic complainers need to buy those $15 seats and then slide over into those damn $75 seats and chill, that’ll show the man!
Meh, I personally bought 75 dollar seats. But I'm bitching because I know a ton of the fan base needs those 15 dollar seats to consider it. We are trying to regrow the fan base right now. Lower the barrier to entry.

When the IBA game was originally announced years ago, it was pitched as a way for people to see Shocker basketball without the normal hurdles and cost of season tickets or Koch arena. Having the week leading up to an event when you might get some casuals showing only a handful of crappy 30 dollar seats and most of the other seats at 50-75 is dumb. Lowering them 4 hours before tip off isn't the way to go

I don’t disagree. I wish we could have KSU come to 21st and Hillside with10.5k (mostly in black and yellow) going crazy. And to those who still keep season tickets, it absolutely would be a slap in the face to move that game.

I want to think that Saal and crew will have better feel than that, but we’ll see.

      • The opponents decide the turnout for many, especially those casual fans. Look at attendance variances over the years at IBA, even when WSU had outstanding teams. So when the home team has not been up to previous expectations turnout naturally suffers.

I almost didn’t buy this year but the bottom line is I go to show support for the Shocks.

And, of course, that reason, is pretty much moot at this point since we don't come close to filling up Koch Arena anymore and cheap tix are available on the secondary market.

The other reason for the IBA games, IIRC, was that it was a way to attract bigger name opponents to agree to play the Shocks in Wichita. Obviously, that didn't happen this year.

This. Nice to know I could’ve saved half the price of tickets.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

            • 25 minutes to tip off and there are MAYBE 1000 in their seats. Probably more like 800.

It’s a crowd of several at the moment.

and nobody watching except for you 800, so the full watch count is going to be probably one of the worst in the last decade, if not more.

                  • Taylor is saying we'll end up with about 3,500 in attendance. To put that number in perspective, we had 4,780 at the “Snow” game against Norfolk State on November 25.

I would have given you both "likes", but I don't like it and it could have been much, much better.
