It was an enjoyable event. Nothing real noteworthy. KWCH was there so there may be a little bit on the news tonight. Saal didn't mention the baseball coaching hire, but I assume he won't say anything publicly until the press conference on Wednesday.

Had some brief private conversations with HCPM, HCTN and HCDG (men's tennis). All very personable. Coach Nooner is one who is fine with info about the program (like recruiting) being out there. He clearly sees the value in keeping the fans engaged and in the program in the public eye. He also said he's willing to get out there and meet people to sell the program. I get the feeling he will be quite visible on campus and in the community. Coach Glavin mentioned there are plans for a new indoor/outdoor tennis complex down the road. I'm not sure if that's been mentioned before, but was news to me.

Excellent report. I, too, really like Nooner.

Thanks for the report. What kind of turnout did they have? Do you think it was generally well received by those in attendance? Did they serve Bud Light?

                • I saw no Bud Light. We had one of Salt City's own brews.. I would guess attendance at 25-ish. And it did seem well-received.

                  • I wasn't big on the Mills hire and am very sour on the Green hire. With that said, Mills took over a complete dumpster fire at ORU after a popular coach got fired. In addition, ORU also changed conferences and went back to the Summit after being in a Southland conference that wrecked the program. He had to start from zero and was in an almost no win situation. Yet he did eventually win, and won big. There is reason for optimism. I see no upside with Green, none. I hope he proves us all wrong.

I wonder how that attendance stacked up the AD's expectations. I am not exactly sure what the goals and objectives of these Shocker Caravans are, but it does seem like the return for the time and effort involved might be pretty minimal.

Maybe he does. I was against the Green hiring. But as I have heard more from those who I trust the Green hiring may be where the AD shines. It clear after hearing the Pelfrey interview, Hibbs wasn't the right guy. His team quit on him during the season.

I heard Bill Self himself tried to get the KS Legislature to pass pro NIL legislation a couple of years ago but it got bogged down with Anti-Trans, Anti- LBGTQ stuff. Bill Self gave up. Our legislature is too obsessed with that kind of stuff to pass what is needed to compete with the SEC states on NIL.
So unless our crazy legislature moderates, which I don't see happening soon, our state will be left behind

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah, the majority just needs to change their value system and get on board with PRO-trans legislature in order to be "moderate". Riiiiiiiiiight. You don't hang out on park benches and date a guy name Cold do ya?

It's not that. They just need to quit obsessing on it and attaching it to other important legislation. I am sure the Texas and Oklahoma legislatures are probably as anti-LBGTQ as ours, but they still manage to pass NIL legislation to help their universities. Every bill does not have to include social agenda items in it.
