I kinda feel like it might...might just be K-State's year to win it all. Also....as neat as it is to see next year's foe FAU in the Elite-8 I'm not too worried as there's no way their coach will be there next year when they join the AAC.

Houston will hurt but trading Cincy and UCF for FAU, North Texas, and UAB seems like a pretty alright deal, all things considered.
Would love to agree with you there but IMHO the name brand cache built over the decades is obviously a hard loss for the conference as a whole. As long as Memphis remains in the AAC we should be okay. Otherwise...we be "scratching" every year for bids. Go SHOCKS!!!!!

Might lose some luster in terms of TV ratings....etc. But success on the court shouldn't get hurt too bad.
Hopefully FAU can hold onto May, UAB can hold onto Kennedy
And hopefully UNT can continue success without McCasland.

I've always thought that when one of the D1 programs in the state does well, the other ones benefit. It raises the profile of basketball in the state. If KU wins a national championship, people from outside the state notice that there's good basketball in Kansas. Maybe kids who can't get in to KU start looking at WSU and K-State because they see that the state of Kansas has good basketball. KU wins a natty in 2008, then two years later K-State is in the Elite Eight, then three years later WSU is in the Final Four. KU wins another national championship, then the next year K-State is in an Elite Eight or Final Four if they win tomorrow. Now WSU has to make another tournament run in the next few years, which it seems like we now have the coach to do it.
