Winning record every season. Never brought an ounce of disgrace to the team, program, department, University or city.

Upheld his end of the contract in every way. I think he totally earned it and deserves every penny of his contract (whether he looks for another job or not, which I also understand is part of the deal, just a part of the deal I would have had the attorneys draw a line through upon separation, but that's me).

And it's still the correct decision.
The debate is whether he would have been hired under normal circumstances. IMO he did not have a natural career progression. WSU should not have been his first HC job. Juco or swac would have made more sense. Some assistants are naturally groomed to take over major programs and they are in high demand. We all know who they are. IB in no way fits that profile.

Being given something doesn’t at all mean you earned it. The job and the contract were given to him, true, but neither were warranted or appropriate. I equate the severance to winning the lottery much more than having earned it. He was incompetent and unqualified for the WSU men’s basketball head coach job. He’s a fine and dignified man that found himself in a job he couldn’t do and yes, parting was the correct decision.

Hard to disagree with this. I won’t add anything. This clocks it pretty good.
