    • If 2-3 of the above AAC teams bolt for the ACC I hope WSU strongly considers joining the Mountain West (I do not say this lightly living on the East Coast).

      • Either the ACC is determined to be a laughing stock or that tweet is from a parody account.

          • After schools like FSU, Clemson, UNC, UVA leave for SEC/B1G. and Louisville, Pitt, VT, NCSU types leave for big 12.

            Who cares anymore?

            • I could buy Tulane and USF as being possible options. UAB seems a bit of a stretch and ECU and Tulsa seem desperate.

If one or two went, we'd probably be looking at a Georgia State. I still think if the AAC needed to add two that they should go after Toledo and Buffalo.

I wouldn't be to anxious about joining the MWC until we see how the whole PAC (OSU/WSU) thing plays out. If they still somehow manage to pull the best of the MWC in with them then going west would make no sense, but it could allow the AAC to maybe get a front range school or two. Having Navy, Army and AFA would probably guarantee the media deal would still be fairly decent and we'd still be associated with a number of Texas schools which is still a big deal for Wichita.

              • The whole cash grab over college football is going to **** up the rest of college athletics beyond belief, IMHO. And then I would bet the college football part will all blow up again when the usual top 30 or so get tired of the dregs of these newly formed conferences.

This is where I am at now. The Big East is never happening and the A10 Would be death for the rest of our sports programs. Let's grab Tulsa and Rice and go West.

I'd rather try to strengthen the AAC then go west. Bring them to us.

Ditto... college sports are no longer amateur sports and I never cared much for the pro sports, of which college sports is now teetering on.

                        • I actually don't care much about the amateur/paid vs. not being paid aspect, but the biggest problem I have is the absolute disregard for tradition in favor of money.

I'm the biggest capitalist in the world, but the constant pursuit of a better bottom line within the context of college sports has caused a couple of issues (namely the loss of rivalries that invigorate fans and the detriment of flagship programs like Nebraska football - Texas and OU are next), none of which can be remedied at this point.

It's not going to happen if the AAC loses it's top schools to the ACC

                              • If Yormark is really that high on Gonzaga to the Big 12 as a basketball-only member, I really hope that someone, somewhere in WSU's administration is at least making a pitch to him about bringing in WSU along with the Zags. It would keep the number of schools in the Big 12 at an even number and give Gonzaga a basketball-only partner school in the conference. Plus, Wichita would fit perfectly in the geographic footprint of the Big 12.
