They said on the post game show tonight that FVV is on track to break the career assist record at WSU this year.

The career assist record is held by Toure Murry who had 430 assists over a 4-year career. Warren Armstrong (Jabali) had 429 assists over a 3-year career.

If I added it up right, Fred current has 415 assists (89 his Freshman year, 193 his Sophomore year, and so far 133 his Junior year).

He also is currently second in career A:TO ratio EVER.

He is 7th amongst college juniors in wins.

Wichita State guards Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker have had a good chemistry for some time.

So when Baker says he could see something different in VanVleet's eyes Saturday night, it's probably true.

"Fred just had this look in his eye like, 'Shoot it,' when he passed it to you," Baker said. "He's setting us up with these perfect passes, this perfect backspin, and you could tell he wanted you to make the shot."

What a tremendous performance - Fred is a total winner on and off the court.

What is special about FVV's triple double is he did it in the confines of our offense, not forcing the issue, just doing his job. As kewl as that is, I did not even see this coming because FVV is smooth and always watching for his teammates first before any personal achievements. His Freshman Season, he played his role as a sub while learning and improving without complaining. Then came Dance time, his role increased. I still remember the 25' make versus the Zags before the shot clock went off. That shot was heard all around the Milky Way and remembered to this very day.
