About all I can say is wow. Gregg Marshall is a lot smarter than a lot of people give him credit for being, and he believes in this program more than a lot of people.

I'd say he pretty much deserves every ounce of support each of us can muster at this point.

If you ever thought in your lifetime that a WSU coach would turn down multiple BCS job offers worth a combined tens of millions of dollars, not just one year but over several years.....you're a bold faced liar.

I've been proud to be a supporter of WSU for a very long time....not sure I've ever been more proud than I am right now.

We've had it pretty good so far, but I don't think I'm wrong when I say that the real good times are coming.

With this announcement, and the finals of the juco tournament today, we could have commitments next week.

The fact he is staying is not a huge surprise, but I was certainly not expecting this announcement today.

It's a great day in ShockerNation!!! I am so thankful that HCGM and his family are staying. I think that this Coach is one of the very best in the country. It is truly great for him to be here at WSU. Remember all the posts from fans of other teams saying that we are going to lose our coach? I know next year is kind of a reloading year, but I think we will have very good team that will surprise a few folks. I AM PROUD TO BE A SHOCKER!!!

Sexton definitely needs to get some credit for this as well. As we are observing up in Manhattan, when the coach and the AD do not get along, the coach gets a lot less picky about what opportunities he will accept.

Also, John Kreese saying that staying in Wichita would be a good move probably didn't hurt either. When your mentor agrees with what you want to do, it makes it a lot easier to ignore the common wisdom and do what you feel is right for you.

Excellent news. Hopes this helps lower my elevated blood pressure the doc says I have. I now look forward to our new recruits. Thank you GM for breaking the 'stepping stone' cycle.

                              Terrific news.

Looks like we might finally be entering a golden age of Shocker hoops where we are a tournament team more often than not. Our great fanbase deserves it.

From the original article (in the first post of this thread) :
Marshall has also had the Shockers in postseason play the last four seasons with the CBI in 2009, the NIT in 2010 and 2011, and the NCAA Tournament in 2012.
If the trend continues, look out!
