There are many on this board and in Shocker Nation that still aren't sold on Sexton. I'm not sure he's really done much to erase those thoughts.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Regardless, I am glad everything was done by the WSU administration (Beggs, Sexton, whoever else) to make this happen."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Originally posted by ShockerRadio View PostFever, I have bit my tongue for many months reading your disparaging comments regarding Dr. Sexton. I, along with a handful of supporters of WSU who have direct involvement with ES on a continuous basis, have found that the closeness of 3G and ES is known to many insiders and that your comments, while you are free and entitled to make them, couldn't be farther from the truth. I'd also like to point out that it is very easy to sit on the sidelines, do nothing except criticize, and have no accountability for your comments. Perhaps you should think before you write. I'd even go so far to suggest that you look in the mirror before calling anyone else ignorant or moronic.
This is great news for Shocker fans and who really cares where the credit lies. I know Dr. Beggs and Dr. Sexton don't!
You're right. I don't have coffee and donuts with Mr. Sexton every morning like I'm sure you do. I also don't get a paycheck from him either, but I do help contribute to his very handsome yearly earnings. However, I do know that I am not alone in my questioning of the athletic department, notably Mr. Sexton. Sub dropped a subtle hint as well. There have been numerous slip ups under this administration. I am not about to bring them up again. But when comparing the previous administration to this one, it really is like night and day. I'm sorry, I just don't get the "vibe" from Mr. Sexton. He just strikes me as quirky and odd at times. His way with words just isn't there for me. Maybe it's because I was spoiled with the previous administration and I am expecting too much. I dunno. I understand that you knowing the guy personally probably skews your views and judgment on him. That's fine. I get that and expect that. But from an out of the inner circle's point of view, which is in an area that occupies 95% of the Shocker fanbase, this is what I view things as. If you wanna change my opinion on things, I want to be able to see it. I don't just want the 5% of cronies and inner WSU buddies to see it. I would think that would be a point to an athletic director.
I would be curious to read your commentary of the way WSU basketball games have been run this year. What do you think of the production? A+? Acceptable? Amateur? I appreciate you biting your tongue, but if you're gonna let the tongue roll, I'd like to know some other opinions you may have.
As far as my original comments go, I am of the opinion that Gregg Marshall values the opinions and views of the Beggs over anybody else associated with this school. It is of my opinion that Beggs likely instilled in Gregg how much he has meant to this program and gave him one last pep talk before he departs. Now of course I am just a speculating little peon. Maybe Eric Sexton actually did something as well. I suppose he probably should be in the mix, considering he is the head of athletic operations at the school. But I personally believe the Beggs would have been a bigger influence on Marshall staying than anything Eric Sexton may have said.Last edited by ShockerFever; March 26, 2012, 02:24 AM.Deuces Valley.

So some don't like his odd & quirky ways. The total disdain for ES by a very vocal minority on this board is the biggest mystery to me. If we were experiencing Kstate-like issues I would understand. Let me end with a question - Has anyone ever heard of a WSU administrator that is at odds with ES?

In most cases, a man is measured by what he has achieved and/or what he has failed to do or accomplish. Although personality (good or bad) sometimes clouds the issue.
Unless those for him or against him can provide documented specifics, in lieu of assumptions, this discussion is pointless and demeaning.

I don't mean to be the guy who dumps the bucket of water on your camp fire, but ShockerRadio is not who you think he is.
You assumed and we all know what happens 99% of the time you assume.
This wasn't a case of the 1% either.
SRAbove all, make the right call.
