Had, say, Ricky Council transferred to WSU without sitting out, then jumped because he would rather play for a higher level team or greater NIL opportunities, I would support WSU for not signing a run-off waiver.

I agree that Siena has the right to play this by the book; they have no obligation to Colby Rogers. However, when you look at this on a human level, I think it's pretty spiteful behavior to block a kid from playing basketball elsewhere. I hope WSU never does such a thing. You should want volunteers in your program, not hostages.

I actually agree with Siena on this. They are not in a position to pull in a CR type player consistently. The only card they have is the card they are playing. Players want to play. If they know they will have to sit a year, it makes it a harder decision to jump just because your coach is a hard ass and you want to sit in your room and toke.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov
