      • Consequences of Marshall doing what he did, Boatright doing what he did, players doing what they did, fans doing what they did….such is life. Move on, already. WKU will be a decent game.

It's also not 3 years ago.

That is something that 100% of us can agree on. We were a Top 30-50 Team in those days and now we aren't even Top 100. Missouri State now may have an argument to be a home and home game.

Losing a buy game with North Texas last year, tells us all we need to know. They were a decent team, but the game was in Koch Arena.

More than just one factor but yes, decline started 3 years ago on the court (maybe 4 if you consider the first round **** show in 2018 as the start) Plus starting next year the AAC is taking a big step back which will hurt overall SOS and likely hurt the ability to schedule high end home and homes when combined with the first point.

You can list factors. i wont.

However, in 2017-18, we were Top 10-15 in a highly rated AAC, with an AAC title being played for in our last regular season game. Yes, we laid an egg against Marshall, but our reputation was still top notch.

Then in 2018-19, we finished with an NIT F4. Still a Top 40-50 team.

2019-20 was a 23-8 team and still Top 50 when the year was cancelled for Covid.

2020-21 was when our record was 15-6. A good record in an incomplete year, but our computer data rankings didn’t show high success. Not Top 50 anyway.

Last year, was when the **** show really hit the fan, and our reputation as a 110-120 ranked team became ingrained.

Thanks for listing out the backup for "the decline started 3 years ago on the court (maybe 4 if you consider the first round **** show in 2018 as the start)"

Whether you want to list factors or ignore them. The other factor I mentioned WILL affect our scheduling cache also .. even if you choose to ignore it in your calculations.

Either way, WKU is a solid home and home if we are picking from the mid major ranks

                  • Top 50 is a national cache in my mind and we had that until the last 1-2 years. The question is whether 120 is unacceptable or where we belong.

Exaggerate much? Last 1 year. Oh yeah, the Shockers beat Houston the year before that because of covid. If not for covid Houston probably would not have been a regional Champion either.

Here's to hoping for some outstanding point play this year. All signs say that's probable, from what I read.

Yes, as we are now in line as a mid major.

Speaking of declines: the standards of this forum when you began your posting. No offense.

Our fall in stature this past year is a fact. Two years ago, is debatable (thus my earlier analysis said 1-2 years). We were probably Top 50-60 two years ago in RPI and made the Tournament. However, our metrics weren’t as high, and we finished out by winning a lot of close games. Thus we were said to be “LUCKY” by the computers. This past year, we were just awful, and now our reputation is the “turd” in the punch bowl.

                            • Nose bleed seats as low as $10. I would expect better seats will get discounted significantly and/or some type of special will be offered.

                              • Good for them. Ten bucks to get in the door is a great deal. I might argue the $20-$30 tickets upstairs are still a bit off, but I get it. At least having some $10 tickets right off the bat is fantastic.

I imagine there will be some good lower bowl tickets available when they become available to the general public on Friday.
