I'm not mad we lost, we got beat fair and square. But I'm way PO'd watching Shaka Smart flippantly extend his hand out for the handshake with GM and speed past by him like we're wasting his precious time. GM was looking at Shaka the entire time, slowed down, extended his hand and ended up watching the little smurf breeze past by him. Anyone else catch that, or is my beer goggles kicking in?

It obviously had to do with the Carl Hall recruitment after he committed to VCU. Marshall and our assistant Mike Rhodes have history together and maybe that violated the Gentleman's agreement. There was talk of no love lost between these staffs all week leading up to this game on our local radio. Marshall is no Saint either. You guys played us tough you should be proud. Neither one of us wanted this game, and its obvious that teams were mis seeded here.

I'm looking at the big picture as hard as that is right now.

HCGM's first year he was ejected out of the valley tournament and our team lost in the play in round. Today we lost in the field of 64. Did we play like we had all year, no but VCU had something to do with that.

I was a student in the 1990's and it took far too long to get the program back to its dominance. I will take a first round loss in the NCAA tournament any day compared to just 5 years ago. Congrats Shocks on a great season. It ended too early.

Let me also say that our fan base is special because of the loyalty through not the good times but the bad times we have gone through with our shockers unlike other big name programs

My point to all this is we have a 5 seed and we get totally embarrassed on national TV by a 12 seed. We were not prepared. We looked satisfied just to be there. We cannot blame Elgin, MVC, or officials.

I'm not embarrassed. Are you embarrassed? You shouldn't be.

congrats on a terrific effort. Ragland is a special player and Hall is a beast inside. It was a typical game for us. Jump out to a lead by forcing some turnovers and getting a few baskets off of them and then make a few 3's and hold on for dear life down the stretch. Our game vs. drexel was almost the same as tonight. they missed a 3 at the buzzer that would have sent that game to OT. You would have beaten most of the other teams in the tourney tonight. we should have been seeded an 11 or maybe a 10. we are better than colorado state who was an 11 seed. I hope you guys build on this season and have some good recruits next season. Look forward to continuing this rivalry next year in richmond !

There is a history between Marshall and Rhodes. It came out this week that Marshall recruited Rhodes for one of our assistant positions but Rhodes said he wanted to stay at VCU. I don't know about any gentleman's agreement however. Marshall has said when news came out that Carl had given VCU a verbal, we contacted Carl for confirmation and Carl said that it wasn't true. But whatever, before a LOI is signed a player is still open game. If Smart is upset over that he needs to get over it because misunderstanding about verbals and contact after verbals happen.

Look on the bright side guys, UConn is getting blown out by double digits. That would bring a hint of sunshine to anybody who's not a UConn fan.

Good season guys, tough tough draw. I had a bad feeling about it too...And I'm still angry about it. I wanted our MVC teams to go deep, and WSU was our best hope. I also have a bad feeling about Creighton tomorrow too. I always pull for Valley teams in the post season. I know how you guys feel right now, same thing happened to Drake in 08. Played a Western Kentucky team that was way better than a 12 seed.

VCU will go on to beat Indiana by double digits.
