My point to all this is we have a 5 seed and we get totally embarrassed on national TV by a 12 seed. We were not prepared. We looked satisfied just to be there. We cannot blame Elgin, MVC, or officials.

We're not the first and sure won't be the last 5 seed to lose a game. $hit happens!

Well Dr., you should "Know" that 12 seeds have upset 5 seeds at least once 21 of the last 23 years, and twice in 10 of the last 11. It is the perennial trap seeding, which is why several posters declared that we were screwed even before the plane left Wichita. VCU was the better team today, and even the experts who all picked us to win knew that this would be a tough game and a tough out for one of us, and neither deserved it. I am disappointed We own the loss, but we were not embarrassed. It was a hell of a game, and the most exciting game of the top 64 seeds so far.

Yeah it happens almost every single year and sometimes 2 or 3 five seeds lose to a 12. It is the upset line.

I am glad that the ncaa committee made us a 5 seed. It showed a lot of respect and literally millions of people across the country filled out a ncaa bracket with Wichita State listed as a 5 seed.

IMO, this was one of those games where you put both these two teams anywhere else and they both advance to the second (or is it the third?) round.

Should have gone to the zone in the first half. We were totally beat off the the dribble drive. Shaka knew by just looking at film. 3G went to the zone in the 2nd half and it was effective...

As I said elsewhere, I'm not convinced we cover the wings well enough in the zone. It might have stopped the drive, but we might have gotten killed with 3 balls from the corner. In Vegas you have to pay extra for that.

Players should have been hypnotized before the game so they would get so wound up and play right into VCUs hands... I give credit to the coach and the team for making adjustments. No one is disappointed more then them for falling just short...
