It's called Alopecia, but according to the Mayo Clinic, Alopecia is simply hair loss. Hair loss comes in different forms, and I do not know, but it seems that it often (if not mostly) is just "because" (could be hereditary).

She's CHOSEN to shave her head because her hair is falling out. That seems like a choice (admittedly, perhaps not the most fun choice of all time) but still a choice.

Alopecia can be due to lots of things. Commonly depression or stress can cause it

My niece has had it since a child. Lots of times it is clumps that fall out. Not the whole thing. Meaning shaving is the only logical choice. Then many will go with a wig after that

I don't really care either way. But there are women who've had breast surgery, and while they often talk about the difficulty, and it affecting them, they don't make a spectacle of their condition. They wear fake breasts. There are "wigs" that are very believable. Pinkett Smith looks fine to me, but I think that she needs to find other ways to cope. While Rock may have stepped over the line, this was blown way out of proportion imo.

Didn't realize she was the one that slapped Chris Rock

Since she's in the public eye too, maybe she should tell her husband that she can fight her own battles. Melania is an example of someone who had to learn to do it, and she's been made fun of a lot (and I'm not a Melania fan).

              Comedian's do what they do.

Did Chris Rock know she has Alopecia or was he just commenting on her hair style? Even if he knew, it’s not a terminally ill disease.

Also, it’s easy to “defend your wife” when you know the other person can’t do anything to respond. Would he have slapped The Rock the same way he slapped Chris Rock?

Then with the fake tough guy yelling. That’s akin to the person yelling “I’D KICK YOUR A$$ IF (INSERT LAME REASON TO MAKE EXCUSE BECAUSE I ACTUALLY DON’T WANT TO FIGHT HERE)”. It doesn’t make you look strong or tough.

As far as staying out of woke culture, eh, I am not so convinced. Will and Jada have, let’s just say, an unusual relationship. Also, their kids and them have some pretty, let’s just say, unique views. Their rights to live that way, but it’s defiantly not a “Green Acres” family.

Another thing, why wasn’t he escorted out of the facility? It’s Chris Rock’s right whether he want to press charges or not, but that was a crime, committed in public, on live television. Seems the network and the academy condone violence, depending on who commits it. They should consider taking his Oscar back for embarrassing them and himself.

TL;DL - Will Smith acted emotionally, handled the situation about as poorly as possible, and embarrassed himself. Although, I am sure his wife’s boyfriend appreciated that he cared so much to defend her.

A video of the full thing, including Will laughing at the joke initially before auditioning for his next role as Juwan Howard, can be found at https://twitter.com/moreoffilms/stat...77114398978048

It didn't make it on American tv - most of it was censored by ABC.

Also, I was thinking alopecia was what Providence head coach Ed Cooley has, but after googling it, looks like he has never said if he has it.

C'mon man... does a man actually slap a man? If Smith was really upset, why didn't he 'cold-cock' Rock instead? I'm not convinced it wasn't a set-up between Smith and Rock.

I've seen a lot of crazy $hit in my day, and it keeps getting deeper.

Good thing Ricky Gervais wasn't hosting. He likes to roast everyone in the audience. Will Smith has it coming from the comedy world now. If he couldn't take that joke, just wait to see how the comedy world handles him.

                          ****ing stupid thread.

Will Smith is a dumb **** that slapped a comedian.

Gregg Marshall is a liar that slapped his subordinates.

Totally Agree. If Chris Rock has to stoop that low to attempt to get a laugh, it is a wonder he still has any of his teeth left.
