D1 womens basketball is a joke. 4 or so teams win it every year. This won’t change unless they reduce the number of scholarships for each team.

The P5 seemingly dominating everyone not named Gonzaga more than ever this year due to superior height and length and……the relaxed rules of the transfer portal. Teams like South Dakota State are basically farm teams for P5 schools. Not going to get better either. If we don’t start winning the transfer portal roulette, I don’t care who our coach is, we will not be competitive.

Some of you all may disagree, but this is why I am all in favor of embracing the NIL stuff and am okay with playing in the mud if needed. Especially if the alternative is watching our program wither away.
