Shocks are just a lower AAC tier team.
Not a lot of AAC level talent there, excluding Council and Porter. Pohto has big time potential and if he stays, will benefit tremendously with a full year of Rosenberg.
I've got the real word on Ricks and he can play at this level.
Abidde is an absolute unknown. May be another Bilau, may be another Rashard Kelly. Who knows.
I do know this - I said years ago that Udeze was Valley level (at best) player and no one should have been surprised after he entered the portal - and got no takers.
Duh!
The staff pursuing Pleasant is an absolute head scratcher. Are you telling me they watched him play @ ACU and said "Oh yea, he can handle the low post guys in the AAC."
Jeezus.
Same with Grant. Who ever is doing the talent evaluation on this staff needs to be demoted to floor sweeping and washing jock straps.
Based on remaining schedule, they may win a couple more, which basically puts them on the same level with ECU.
Who guessed that before the season started?
They will be playing on Thursday - may even win a game. But it will be a short stay and home in time to watch 'The Show' on the tube.
And then the off season starts - which will be anything but boring.
That is all.Above all, make the right call.

Plus he does intangibles that a PG at WSU has not done in quite some time. How many break away layups has he saved this year by sprinting back the other way and blocking a shot? It literally seems like one a game.

In terms of keeping players, I would rank them:
Super High Priority
1. RCIV
2. Pohto
High Priority
3. Porter
Would Really Love to Have Back Priority
4. Dexter
I won’t rank the rest, but I have some thoughts
- I’m not counting the RS players (JR and IA), since I assume they will be staying put.
- I assume TE and MU will move on, and it probably good for all parties.
- MJ has the motor, but he’s too uncontrolled and HCIB doesn’t seem to be the right coach to rein him in; so he probably needs to move on.
- CJ may have potential and has provided a spark lately, but he’s not quit ready. If he sticks around, groovy; but won’t be shocked or devastated if he looks elsewhere.
- QG and JP are absolute WHIFFS. Sure fHCGM had some stickers in his day, but this had to be the worst recruiting class since his first season.*
In other words, this roster needs A LOT of work.
* = I will amend this statement if JR and/or IA prove to be studs, but I going 0/2 on guys playing this season is a horrible start to your reign as HC.Last edited by Shock Top; February 18, 2022, 02:41 PM.The Assman

Who are these high caliber guys we've had in the past?
Fred is a once in 20+ year type player, if not way better than that.
Are we talking about senior Ragland or junior Ragland who was a starter both years?
Are we talking about senior Hannah or junior Hannah who was a starter both years?
Shamet was talented enough to make the NBA, but not as a PG.
Does Porter have an equal cast of players the above have had?
Does Porter have a reasonably equal Head Coach as the above?
I'm not trying to over-hype Porter, but I'm not going to dismiss what he is doing this year with a ragtag team and coach.
If you look at the numbers, Porter is blowing Gilbert away. AG got his accolades because of where the team finished***, his history with UConn, and being a higher scoring PG even if his numbers didn't agree with him shooting that much.
CP: 41.1 / 37.1 / 77.1, 2:1 A/TO, and being only 6'2" 4.8 Rpg, and 1.0 blocks per game (that's tied for the lead on this team).

Agree that RC, KP and CP are our highest priorities in that order.
Hope Ricks as good as Kennedy and Hull have said he is. I'd take
DD back in a heartbeat. He is a good influence on other team mates
while TE and MU just have bad habits that should never be copied by
anyone. Have to get 2-3 quality transfers - a BIG shot blocking center,
a BIG PF, a dead eye SG and of course another PG
